THANK YOU to everyone who came out yesterday to #RootsToRepair! 🙌🏾 The turnout was amazing & almost EVERY attendee successfully traced their lineage back to an enslaved American ancestor or one living in the American South by 1900 — proving that establishing #Reparations eligibility can be done QUICKLY and EASILY without a 5-year study. The state has NO excuse for delays! Sign our petition urging the CA Secretary of State to support #AB2723 and let’s get this done NOW!✍️🏿✊🏾 🔗 cjec-official.org/ab-2723/secret… #LEAP #ReparationsNow #AmericanFreedmen #BlackHistory

Focused. Disciplined. Been here. Still here. While the conversation around #Reparations has shifted in many directions, our focus and discipline has remained clear and consistent: Reparations and Reparative Justice for American Freedmen in California. That focus and discipline has produced CJEC’s 2026 American Freedmen Reparations & Reparative Justice Policy Package: a comprehensive and growing set of proposals grounded in lineage, historical truth, and direct repair, created with and by the community we serve. cjec-official.org/work We invite you to provide your ideas and feedback. We're building this together. This work centers #AmericanFreedmen as a #foundational American population and advances policies that honor our elders, secure our youth, stabilize families, and sustain direct compensation over time. These proposals are not abstract. They are concrete, sequenced, and built to move resources where harm occurred — through direct income, data delineation, housing support, workforce pathways, cultural restitution, health, and more. This is only the beginning. We’ll be sharing more details on each part of the package, how it fits together, and what it will take to make these proposals real in 2026. If you want to help bring these policies to life, specific ways to get involved are coming soon. Stay tuned, follow CJEC, and be ready to move with us. @cjecofficial

I'm going to expose something. And it has the potential to be one of the biggest public scandals in the modern day Reparations movement. Here is goes: There is a plot underway to divert some of the $12 million dollars Governor @GavinNewsom and the CA legislature approved for "Reparations Implementation" last year away from implementing Reparations and give it to a group of *secretly* *hand-picked* non-profit organizations to do God-knows what with. We learned about this plot mid-late last year and have been working to stop it. We were successful in stopping it from happening last year, but we have every reason to believe this plot is still underway. The money they want was in the budget bill approved last summer. This week, the CLBC introduced the sb437 Reparations genealogy study bill and took half of that money from the budget last year and put it toward a study that has no start date and no end date, putting the study and half of the Reparations Implementation money in the hands of Universities and non-profits. So now, there is still $6 million dollars left over after that CLBC announcement this week. And these non-profits want the rest of that money too. That's probably why some of the non-profits you see defending or promoting the CLBCs actions in August of 2024 (or being very quiet about it), and their Descendants Bureau/Study bills sb437/sb518 this year, are doing it... because they want to steal some or all of the Reparations Implementation money so they can fund their orgs, pay themselves, do indefinite studies, etc. The Governor and legislature approved that money last year to implement Reparations, not fund politicians' non-profit pets picked in a process with no public transparency. I actually think it's probably illegal to do anything else with that money other than what the law says: Implement Reparations. By the way, I volunteer with CA's original and leading grassroots Reparations and Reparative Justice organizers, mobilizers, and advocates @cjecofficial. We're the originators of the CA grassroots Reparations movement. And we don't want none of that money! We want it to be used to implement Reparations. Period. @GovPressOffice #CAReparations2025
