
In this op-ed for The Hindu, our co-Founders Azeez Gupta and Utsav Kheria, and our Content & Education Lead, Sukhna Sawhney, posit that inclusive AI must be built around the languages, voices and cultural contexts that shape a child's earliest learning experiences.
They point to initiatives like BHASHINI and BharatGen as a start, but argue inclusive educational AI must be designed around how children and caregivers actually communicate; including in homes, on WhatsApp, and in Anganwadis; combining technology with strong pedagogy, human guidance and safety guardrails.
For young children, it is critical that AI tools are designed in the languages they think, speak and learn in, reflecting how they naturally explore the world through conversation, stories and play.
