@thejailbreakhub Arm64e depends on a PPL bypass whereas dopamine was updated for Arm64 using darksword kernel exploit because PPL is not an issue for those devices. Darksword didn’t have any PPL bypass.

I have a lot of thoughts on the recent developments that I think just need to be pointed out. (yes, this is also sort of a ramble on the problems that have existed for all of 2026) The biggest problem with everything is simple - it's either: - being unclearly labeled/understood by people - being rushed for logical but flawed/bad reasons (Before I continue, just to be clear: Do not harass/bother anyone I alude to here - if you do, I am more than willing to block you the moment I see that). To start off, as an example, let's take the "26.0.x jailbreak" stuff that you may have heard about. First - just so we get this out of the way - the relevant bugs do exist from pattern-f. However, there's also no guarantee they will be publicly released (let alone anytime in the very near future). The thing that was posted about, however, was what was generally known in the past as a "dev jailbreak" - it just as root permissions and whatever. At best, I suppose you can throw a bootstrap onto it and get something maybe equivalent to the original Fugu15 from back in 2022, which - while definitely neat - is not anything that is useful for end users, or even enough for most developers to actually update stuff. If you want to get something practical out of it, you'd need to implement tweak injection stuff, which - due to both many changes in 26.x and a long list of reasons/history I have knowledge of - would be unlikely to come from this individual. Now, as for the usbliter8 stuff, that's a little different. The biggest issue with that stuff - in my opinion - is that it appears the goal has been to just "have something" rather than "have something good". Don't get me wrong, I do understand the *logic* (both favorable and less favorable reasons) of wanting to get stuff out quickly. In some cases, it may be the best way forward even. But almost nothing in 2026 has been something that should be rushed out - and this includes the usbliter8 stuff. Historically speaking, the more that stuff tries to get rushed out, the more problems that arise and the more people that are turned away as a whole, whether that be: - people who think that a thing will always have a set of downsides (which is - in some cases - not true whatsoever) - people that have a horrific experience because a rushed thing has bugs or is foundationally incomplete - people who cling to an old tool/standard because stuff started off that way (this causes way more issues for everyone later on) - a higher support burden on developers/repository maintainers/those who just... give normal assistance to average people and many more reasons that would take too long to get into. Many people find this hard to believe, but in general, everyone in the cycle is better off waiting for something competent (even if it's months) than rushing to use something that is objectively flawed. My personal wish (not that I have optimism those who should read this will follow) is that developers should take the time (even if it's months) to do stuff properly and as well-designed as possible, rather than rushing stuff out, and fracturing what remains of this circle even more.

@MasterMike88 You hit the nail on the head, especially regarding the jailbreak misunderstanding. People see a root shell or a PoC and immediately expect a fully functioning tweak injection environment, completely ignoring the massive gap between a kernel exploit and an end-user tool. 1/2
