Went to my son’s flag football game yesterday. One of the coaches was screaming “ON THE BALL!!!ON THE BALL!!” after every play, obnoxiously loud. One of the kids threw the ball at him fast so they could get “on the ball” quick. Coach didn’t put his hands up in time and the football hit him square in the face, broke his sunglasses. All us parents started shouting “ON THE BALL!! ON THE BALL!!” As he stumbled around trying to get the ball and find his broken sunglasses 😆😆😆😆. Prime sports parenting moment.

Both my kids are in sports. Going to turn into sports dad. Gunna get a reclining folding chair and a pop up tent in the colors of my local NFL team. Gunna get a rollie cooler. Gunna wear nothing but sweats and brooks running shoes. It's going to be great 👍

Instead of deaf people just watching the actual artists perform, CBC puts a sign language interpreter on to perform air guitar & drum solos for them to watch along side of it. Whats going on in Canada? It’s a 24/7 nut house

When I was a CMO, I had access to the company suite for NFL games. Leather recliners, prime rib, private bathrooms. But every time I went, I noticed something: The people on the other side of the glass were having way more fun. It’s ironic: Luxury often insulates you from the very experience you seek. The best experiences can’t be bought—because they require participation, not comfort.

This one seems to be going places so I'll just say a few things about myself. I'm a German citizen with an American fiancee that's eventually gonna move to Germany. I'm increasingly concerned about the direction the USA is moving into. I'm an atlanticist and I really hope that Europe and the US are gonna be able to normalize their relations again in a post Trump world. We people in Europe know that the next 2.5 years are gonna be difficult but we know that better times are coming.

That's it. That's the best picture from Saturday's No Kings protests in the USA. The literal Statue of Liberty being detained by police. It doesn't get much more poetic than this.

Instead of middle-aged podcasters telling folks what they should think about Ashley Sheatz's testimony, here is Ashley telling us what she thinks about it: "But I wasn’t embarrassed at all by it because I’ve been sharing my testimony for years. It was more of a “Praise God, Praise God that my testimony is being seen by millions of people, millions of unsaved people, and the gospel is being magnified in that. I have zero shame. And my husband knows I do not mind him at all sharing any aspects of my testimony. He’s a wise, godly man. I trust what he does. And he is discreet when he needs to be. I have no issues with it." The godliness this young woman has shown in the face of serious slander, snarkiness, unfairness, and outright hostility has been a serious blessing to many of us. @AshleySheatz, the way you have weathered this (with Trevor!) has edified so many, and even strengthened our faith in some way. And that is to say NOTHING of the millions of people who have now heard of God's amazing grace in your life. Amazing! There will be people in heaven, I am guessing, because of this.

Redeemed @AshleySheatz speaks out ✝️: “My testimony’s being seen by millions of unsaved people & the Gospel is being magnified in that. My husband knows I don’t mind him at all sharing any aspects of my testimony Praise God when I’m persecuted & reviled for righteousness’ sake.” @conservmillen

@conor64 They made kids get vaccines to go to school. About zero kids without some horrible comorbidity died from Covid. They made people who just had Covid get vaccines to go to work. They advocated for large groups of people to protest because racism was worse than Covid, apparently.

A question for everyone: survey data suggests that by the end of the Covid-19 emergency trust in public health institutions had decreased significantly. If you are among the people who reacted that way, why specifically? I'm hoping for long, diverse, individualized answers.

There is a species of ant that approaches the edge of another colony, kills a single worker, and then takes on the dead ant’s scent. For ants, scent is everything. Wearing that scent, the intruder walks in with no resistance. The workers pass by without concern. The intruder moves inward, toward the queen, then It sprays the queen with a different scent that makes the workers turn on her. Then they surround her and kill her. The intruder does not need to fight anyone. The colony does the work itself. Once the queen is gone, the intruder reproduces. The true invader is no longer an intruder. It is the future. This is how ideological takeover works. A destructive foreign ideology takes the scent of familiar ideas and walks in as if it belongs. It speaks the native vocabulary, justice, equality, compassion, rights, progress. It uses these words and quietly changes what they point to. Then it moves inward. It alters how foundations are perceived. Responsibility is made to smell like cruelty, law like oppression, borders like hatred, tradition like danger, history like guilt. At that point, the civilization turns on itself. Its courts, universities, churches, media, and bureaucracies begin treating their own foundations as threats. They believe they are defending the system. They are enforcing what now smells legitimate. They do not see the intruder because it sounds exactly like them. And when the founding principles are finally removed, discredited, dismantled, erased, the foreign ideology does not need to conquer anything. It inherits what is left. The queen is gone. The colony is no longer itself. The most effective conquest is the one that convinces a society that its own foundations are the enemy, and that killing them is an act of virtue.

Today, Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court ruled that mandatory life sentences without the possibility of parole for second degree murder are unconstitutional. I have long believed this law is unjust and wrong. As Governor, I took legal action in this case arguing to strike down this sentencing framework. Common sense and true justice dictate that we need different penalties for different conduct. For example, the getaway driver shouldn’t get the same sentence as the person who pulls the trigger. Per the Supreme Court’s order, it is now time for the General Assembly to act and come up with a thoughtful, just process to address those who are serving life sentences for second degree murder.

My take on the current discourse about the Christian man with the formerly “promiscuous” wife is that many of the comments towards the man and his wife have been uncharitable, cruel, and certainly un-Christian, but also that Christians these days often tend to be far too eager to tell the entire world about their past sins, which in most cases shows a lack of discretion and a certain lack of the sort of shame one should feel even for repented sins. Also, as a parent, I strongly believe that you generally should avoid telling your kids about your own wayward youth, because the kids will take such stories as an indication that they too can go off and have fun sinning and things will turn out okay, just as they did for you. Also you undermine your own moral authority when you instruct your children not to do the very things you have admitted to having done yourself. Finally, the man’s line about how his wife “is more pure than most virgins” is prideful and shows a kind of competitiveness and vanity that should simply not ever appear in any Prodigal Son style testimony. Imagine if the Prodigal Son had returned and announced himself not only repentant but “more pure” than the brother who stayed? It would kind of destroy the point of the story. So in summary I basically disagree with everyone on this.

Pornography is a grevious and widespread sexual sin with serious consequences. Any Christian involved in the "marriagiablility" discourse should keep the Golden Rule (and perhaps the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant) in mind.
