This is broadly true, not just of editors: People feel things, then confabulate reasons for why they feel that way. Read feedback broadly. If someone signals disapproval, believe they disapprove, but be skeptical of reasons. "This is boring" often means "I find this aversive."

My advice for anyone (not this woman in particular) who’s not photogenic is practice in the mirror until you become so familiar with your face you can feel and tell exactly what it’s doing in front of a camera at all times. If you’re still bad at it after that, I don’t know what to tell you, I think you might just be kind of a failure at pictures

@liminal_warmth this is my use case for melatonin, actually. I've never had a hard time getting to sleep at night, but I'll often wake up after 4 hours in bed or so. you probably know but most melatonin products are way higher of a dose than you need but you can get 300mcg pills on amazon
