@ErekoRex @Its_ereko We are only going to get more of this gold if we stop galamsey. Right now galamsey is not only an economic drain but an environmental one too

Absolutely brilliant. What makes this even more significant: historically, over 90% of Ghana’s gold was exported as raw doré, losing billions in potential refining value and foreign reserves. Now, with domestic assaying, refining, and direct BoG integration, Ghana is finally capturing that lost upside. Damang alone could add millions of ounces to reserves over its remaining life. And this isn't just about gold — it's a blueprint for bauxite, manganese, and lithium too. Local ownership plus local value chain equals true resource sovereignty. More mines must follow, yes — but also expand this model to artisanal gold buying through GoldBod. Let’s make Ghana the first African nation to break the raw-export trap completely. 🇬🇭🔥

🚨 GHANA TAKING BACK CONTROL — THIS IS RESOURCE SOVEREIGNTY IN ACTION! 🇬🇭 Damang Gold Mine — now under full local Ghanaian ownership (first major mine in over 20 years run by our own people) — has sold 100% of its first gold output (≈110kg) directly to the Ghana Gold Board. This gold will be assayed, valued, refined, and added straight to the Bank of Ghana’s reserves. No foreign extraction. No raw export giveaway. Value stays home. Reserves grow. Future secured. Shoutout to the vision: Ghanaian leadership delivering for Ghana. This is how we build real economic independence — one strategic mine at a time. Africa is rising. Resources for Africans. What’s your take? More mines need this treatment? Drop it below 👇🏿

@TheHighStreetJ Jobless growth is going to persist as long as we allow Chinese companies to come here and discriminate Ghanians out of their own jobs. They fire Ghanians and replace them with other Chinese. There are barely any ghanians working in ghana anymore

Ghana is shifting how it benefits from its gold 🇬🇭 Damang Gold Mine has sold 100% of its first 3,000oz output to the state to boost reserves and support the cedi. A move officials call a game changer — keeping more value, refining locally, and reducing capital flight. #Ghana #Gold #Economy #Enn

@Wassce_Bece Ugh these questions are so easy to answer but the real issue is that none of them will help you in your future job unless you are studying to be a fisher or something. And even then you should just be focusing on stopping illegal fishing

@KwakuDapaa1 That's because China is a model for the rest of Africa on how to be neo-colonial. They have become the new colonial powers in Africa. Ghana needs to wake up to this before it's too late

@kofi_owia @JoyNewsOnTV The galamsey is all because of the Chinese. They are the ones who keep pushing these activities closer and closer to people's homes. And they don't care that they are literally killing people

Reports from Atlantic Council (2025) and Al Jazeera note Chinese nationals' role in galamsey since 2008, contributing to pollution and deforestation via machinery and finance. However, LSE and Chinese officials highlight shared blame with local corruption enabling it. Ghana has deported thousands and arrested participants, including recent cases in 2026. The video shows local miners, not directly tied to Chinese firms.

@amatrendz fraud is so prevalent in Ghana now because of the Chinese. They are the ones who have purposefully and intentionally defrauded Ghanians on a massive scale through their galamsey.

@kwekufirst @blaquegatsby @ayaxdegreat Is it valid tho? Do you think people living outside of Kumasi will not open their shops during the funeral? Do you think just a word is enough to people stop galamsey? Efforts and actions needs to be involved to fight that and the logistics to carry that task lies with the gov’t

@eddie_wrt Oohhh! Robbing the district assembly common fund and the educational fund because of gov'ts quest to end galamsey as a graduate teacher? I don't think that should be an option at all. Not being posted is tough to deal with, but robbery and galamsey is a no no sir.
