While the first claim is factually correct, the second one doesn’t hold up. Hamas is not a palestinian entity. It’s an islamic one. They fought side by side with the islamic state against the Assad regime before getting disillusioned and kicked out. Ironically, the US funded terror groups across Syria raising another question mark. But that discussion is for another day.

Well said. Now ofc we can debate what is morally worse between the two entities themselves. The official representative of a country that acts according to what electors asked them to do or an openly terrorist organization that claims legitimacy from a vote 20 years ago and had regional aspirations, taking part in regional wars as they did in Syria. I think both are concerning for their respective traits. The first one says more about Israels culture as a whole while the latter says more about Hamas itself.

More than that. You could have the most radical government exercising hardship on your own people and no one would care if you put as much effort in diplomacy as you do in propaganda and defense. Hannah Arendt once said “The sad truth is that most evil is done by people who never make up their minds to be good or evil.” I think Israel has proven that the opposite is true. Much of the evil is done in complicity and full awareness of the population.
