Senate Rs are still skeptical of the details around the $1B ballroom project following a briefing w/ USSS Director Sean Curran. A number of them are asking for further detail. Young: "I could be supportive of more security funding. I could be supportive of a certain measure of ballroom funding, which I think is defensible. But they need to go back and get us more details about how they arrived at the figure." Rick Scott: "I think bottom line, people want to be supportive. They want security for the president. But they want more detail. Tillis: "I think part of what we have to do is be clear on what the $1B is for. ... Because otherwise, it just looks like a billion dollars going into something that we all thought was going to cost around $400 million that was paid for by private contributions."
