Barnsley have made Irish centre-back Eoghan O’Connell their first signing of the transfer window. He was a free agent after leaving Wrexham last year and has signed until the end of the season.

Wasn’t there today as been at a darts comp but from what I’ve seen and heard was a good performance and the better team, unlucky to come away with nothing. Not sure on the pen shout, hard to tell as the other player in the way. Defo not stonewall like some have said. #DRFC

@drfc1879 @The_Mannster If you have to watch it in slow motion to see it was a pen how can you criticise the ref?? For me, it's one of those if VAR was in play the referees on field decision isnt overturned either way. Close call which went barnsleys way

@The_Mannster Only Barnsley fans with tinted glasses would see it as a great tackle….watch it in slow motion….he totally misses the ball. It’s a penalty all day long. I wasn’t convinced from south stand (still called ref a cheat 🤣) but watching that justifies that call now.

Big decision in the final stages, no penalty given for this challenge on Sharp.

@GabSutton @EFL Watched Huddersfield v Peterborough on the box. Huddersfield weren't great but got the job done but I was shocked a Peterborough. Always known then for their pace, flair and creativity in the final third. Not seen any of that today, and by the results guessing its been all season

@GuestyBFC 100% this. We were never going to bring in players the quality of Luca, Phillips or DKD so the biggest thing this window was to keep them, and it looks like we've done that. And no point bringing in shit, like last January's transfers disasters.

My main concern with today was keeping everyone, would have been nice to have some more in for depth but not bad overall, I think we all expected a key player to leave this window. #barnsleyfc

Another win to continue a great first few weeks of the season. Ten points from possible 12. They showed a lot of resilience and good game management to keep a first clean sheet under Conor Hourihane. More quality from Vickers for the goal. Just a big team effort throughout.
