I’m about to get married, and my fiancé knows I have an inheritance that was left to me by my grandparents. It’s in my name only, and I’ve been saving it for years. I had the responsibility of an oil rig, I was the one who decide issues that could put an oil company out of business or keep them all safe from events like Macondo or Piper Alpha. Two weeks ago we had solar panels and a battery fitted. We have just completed our first full week with the system. Our electric bill for the week commencing 10th March 2026 compared to the same week last year has dropped by 71% from £31.71 to £9.05. We also have not received our DNO cert yet which would allow us to sell back into the grid. On sunny days our battery has been full by 11:30am meaning we don’t yet benefit from the excess free energy being produced. We are now going to buy an electric car and fill it with free energy. If only all of the UK could do this, it would go along way to reducing the countries high energy costs. @octopusenergy @g__j

Let's face it Luke... under the NHS currently, if you need non-urgent surgery now for a condition that's causing you pain without being health threatening, you've either got to suffer for 18 months whilst you're on the waiting list, or pay to get the surgery done within a couple of weeks. I'd therefore argue that the NHS in it's current form is not free at the point of service as an awful lot of people are paying to avoid living in pain for over a year.

So there we have it. Reform REFUSING TO RULE OUT a social insurance model for the NHS. That means under Reform, your healthcare could stop being a right and start becoming a risk. That is deeply, deeply concerning. Reform cannot be trusted.
