I think your instincts are right and this is just more lawfare. As someone who has been pretty active nationally since before the Tea Party, I‘ve always known Charlottesville was off. I’ve never been approached by these alleged organized white supremacist groups now have I met them, and I would have if they were remotely as prominent as was claimed.
