Mali has declared two days of national mourning after Defence Minister Sadio Camara was killed in a suicide bombing. The attack happened at his home in Kati and was part of coordinated strikes on military positions across the country. Groups linked to Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin and Tuareg fighters have claimed responsibility. This was not just one attack, but a wider offensive, dealing a major blow to the current leadership.
