Did you guys understand that two different people can have two different opinions about the same topic or situation. Even if they are a COUPLE. And they can not agree at everything. And you don't know what his opinion is abt that topic. Maybe, he has his reason for not going.

Unfortunately I only have time for a rushed tweet rn, but I could write a whole essay on parasocial relationships. In a world of influencers, social media, and celeb culture, it’s something we’ve all engaged with to some degree. My own account is basically founded on it… and it’d be a lie to say I’ve never looked back on something I posted and felt that I crossed a line. Everyone has a different view of where exactly that line is, what exactly is appropriate, and when exactly something becomes “fair game”. It can cause tension between fans – and sometimes, unfortunately, it can cause tension between fans and the very people they’re fans of. These are ever-evolving “relationships” that fans and public figures are constantly figuring out how to navigate. Every fan will go about it differently, and every public figure will too. I certainly can’t advise people on how to get it “right” because I don’t have the answer. I’m not even sure if there IS a right answer. What I *am* sure of is that I’m not the authority on the subject – I get it wrong constantly. (Some people think it’s unhealthy to even own a fan account in the first place. Some would say it’s unhealthy to follow celebrities at all. And some would argue that we all just need to get offline and go touch some grass expeditiously.) It’s a dynamic I think about a lot, though. Or at least, I try to. And that’s all I can advise, really: that everyone ponders where they think the line is, and then tries not to cross it. Sometimes, a celebrity you follow might even explicitly establish certain boundaries (see: Chappell Roan). And sometimes, people might cross those boundaries anyway. They might argue that they have a right to, or that no one can stop them. And you might agree, or you might not. But while we can’t tell others how to think or how to feel, we *can* all explore how WE think. How WE feel. It’s something I try to keep in mind, because I can find it all too easy to forget I’m not just in my own little bubble when I post. I’m on the world wide web, where my posts could reach anyone, anywhere. And as a Little Mix fan, I’m well aware that they often see their fans’ posts – as do their friends and family. Journalists also scour social media for showbiz gossip to write about and fan comments to quote in articles. It’s something worth considering before posting. So next time you’re thinking about sharing gossip or a rumour or an opinion, try to consider whether it’s to do with someone’s public life or their private/personal life. (There isn’t even time to debate whether we should have an interest in strangers’ private lives to begin with, but let’s be honest, most of us probably do to some level or another – whether that’s a celebrity/a Love Island contestant/an influencer/a politician, or just a random person you follow/your situationship’s ex-situationship/the local eccentric). And if you are considering making a public post about someone’s private life, also consider this: Who might see it? Who might share it? How might the subject of the post feel if they see it? Then consider: Do I still want to discuss it publicly? Would I rather discuss it privately instead? Do I still even want to discuss it at all? We’ll all have different answers to those questions. I won’t try telling you what to think. Only you know how you feel.

Now Leigh-Anne has made her pregnancy public, I’ll just say this: before discussing a rumour about the girls, ask yourself if it’s to do with their public or private lives, and how they might feel if Twitter rumours about their private lives got picked up by journalists and became headlines

Leigh-Anne’s sister Sairah refutes claims that Leigh’s husband doesn’t support her solo career, saying “people always take what Leigh says so far and wide” that context, perspective and “common sense” get lost. Agreeing with a fan who said “it’s completely fair that a Black man doesn’t want to live in the US”, Sairah clarifies that he “would support Leigh no matter what”, and his hesitation to move there for her solo career stems from concerns about “raising kids in the US”, which is “a whole different story for some people”.

Leigh-Anne on ‘My Ego Told Me To [The Film]’: “Making this film alongside my debut album was something I knew I had to do. I've always loved using visuals to bring my music to life, so with ‘My Ego Told Me To’ I wanted to combine that with my love for acting and create something bigger than just a music video. This album is so personal to me that I wanted to give you another way to experience it. This whole journey has been about finding myself again. Reconnecting with the stronger, fiercer, more confident parts of me that l'd buried for far too long. I wanted this film to reflect that and hopefully make the message behind the album and project connect on an even deeper level. I couldn't have done it without the most incredible team of creatives who completely understood the vision from day one. Thank you to every single person who helped bring it to life, and a massive thank you to Gary Nurse for directing it so beautifully. I'm honestly so proud of what we've created together. As this chapter comes to a close, I feel nothing but pride. This film feels like the perfect way to bring this era to life, but it also feels like the beginning of something new for me. Not just as an artist, but as a storyteller. I hope you connect with it in the same way I connected with making it, and maybe even see a little bit of yourself in it too. Because I think so many of us have been overlooked, underestimated or made to feel like we had to be someone we're not. You are not who they decided you were. You are who you choose to become. Never underestimate your power.”

One of the scenes in Leigh-Anne’s album film appears to be inspired by events she experienced with her former record label Warner Music UK. In the scene, her character responds to a label executive who said her sound is “too urban” to be marketable or commercial: “This album is a representation of me. Her. Us. Those that came before us, and those that will come after us. We’re praised as Black females for resilience, but you never reward us for our achievements. My ethnicity – or dare I say, colour – is celebrated, but seldom trusted.”

“Your voice is not a liability. Your truth is not a phase. And your silence was never the answer. We carry more than we’re told: more history, more fire… more permission than they’d like us to realise. So speak. Even if your voice shakes. Especially if it shakes. This isn’t just my story: it’s ours. And the time isn’t coming… It’s already here.” — Leigh-Anne - My Ego Told Me To [The Film]
