When I wanted to name my twins, one Yoruba woman was insisting that I name them Taiwo and Kehinde. She carry my twins naming for head. And she was like that I should fry akara on that day, that it's what people do for twins. I don't understand. How can you be telling me what to name my children? How can you even in your right senses tell someone what to do in his home? Why should I fry akara? Is that my culture? The day came and passed, I named them in the name I wanted and pure Igbo names. I didn't fry one single thing and infact I didn't invite her to the naming. Since then, she don de carry face for me and my wife. Wetin concern me and you bikonu?
