My employee told me I shouldn’t make more money than him. Him: “I don’t know why you make more than me, I should have a business like yours!” Me: “Oh, it's easy! You just need to do 500 flights” He was confused Him: “I don’t get it” Me: “And that’s why you shouldn’t have this business” Everyone sees the results of a successful person or business and thinks “Must be nice! I wish I had that! They’re so lucky! They have the easy job” But what they don't understand is the cost of that success. You can’t understand what it takes, unless you've done it. There are all sorts of ways to measure your journey towards success: - 10,000 hours to become an expert - 18,337 emails to hit consistent profitability - 2800 Sales calls before my first sale - 500 flights in 5 years (my personal favorite) Ultimately, success is a crazy amount of incremental improvement with often useless and always monotonous repetition towards a goal. I used to think—business model, superior service, industry knowledge, network, pricing strategy, vitality—all those things were how you get a business to succeed. I am now 100% convinced that those items make up 5% of the equation. The rest is endurance. Plain and simple. Not Quitting. So, what is the point? This post is for two people. Those of you In The Trenches: Do not quit. It is the only way you lose. I cant count how many times I told myself “one more time”. One more late night. One more quarterly push. One more business trip. I lied to myself. Like a runner on mile 10 of a marathon “One more mile and we will walk.” Then when they get to the next mile: ““One more mile and we will walk.” Lie to yourself. Keep lying. Because I don’t know when it will happen for you. It took 7 years for me. Finally the “One More’s” started to be true. But I was the closest I ever was to quitting at the end of year 6. Maybe the night is darkest just before the dawn 2. For those of you Who Are Considering It: If you don’t have that little bit of hubris, that arrogance, that self-belief—don’t even start. When you read this post you should be thinking “This guy is an idiot, I can do this.” If you think, “Oh shit, that sounds hard, I don’t know.” DO NOT TRY. Because the first type is the only sort of person who can look at the overwhelming odds in front of them and prove everyone wrong. It takes a strange mixture of stupidity and arrogance to be successful in SMB. If you don’t have it, keep your job, get a side hustle or buy some rentals, it will turn out just fine.

🚨 | BREAKING: The State of Florida is officially SUING the College Football Playoff Committee! 🎙️ | Attorney General Ashley Moody: "We are launching an investigation to examine if the Committee was involved in any anticompetitive conduct, in it's unprecedented decision [to exclude FSU]." The subpoena sent off to the CFP Committee demands all communications related to the exclusion with ESPN & the Southeastern Conference, documents showing member compensation, & individual vote tallies from that infamous Sunday Morning. The AG also accused the Committee of costing Florida State University & the ACC MILLIONS of dollars 💸 The Committee has one month to turn over all these documents, before this antitrust investigation is escalated 👀 This is a very big moment...

1/ I have some preliminary conclusions on the blockbuster real estate agent lawsuit. These were partially informed by listening to Mark McLaughlin from Compass and Liz Gehringer from Anywhere Real Estate Inc. at our conference right after the announcement.

From a reader, who received an email from his/her training manager at a local HomeServices of America/BHHS company: "National Association of Realtors (NAR): The jury found NAR guilty of antitrust violations. NAR was accused of implementing policies that restricted competition, particularly regarding the use of Multiple Listing Services (MLS). As a result, NAR is now required to revise its policies to be more inclusive and pro-competitive. This verdict is expected to have a significant impact on the real estate industry, potentially opening doors for new and innovative business models. Keller Williams: Keller Williams was found not guilty of any antitrust violations. The company was able to successfully argue that it had not participated in any conspiracy or anticompetitive activities. This outcome is a significant win for Keller Williams, reaffirming its commitment to fair competition. Home Services of America: Similar to Keller Williams, Home Services of America was found not guilty of any antitrust violations. The company successfully demonstrated that it had not engaged in anticompetitive practices. This result allows Home Services of America to continue its operations without legal constraints." Are they talking about the same trial the rest of us are? Sitzer v. NAR?

@robreiner It’s like you hate America. The comments you post are mind blowing. I used to like you. Now I’m scared to death of you and the way you think. Or you’re just in on the whole scam of destroying the country from within. Your end goal doesn’t point to anything else…

@JackMattera426 @netraider @MarioNawfal This is literally comical. It’s what all property owners deal with and is market specific. The assessed value argument is hilarious. Tax assessors literally do a drive by on property to guess what they think is the value. Arguing a link between the two is apples& oranges

🚨BOMBSHELL TRUMP RULING SHOCKS POLITICAL AND REAL ESTATE WORLDS Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron's Tuesday ruling, without a jury, has left industry experts perplexed and has enraged Trump and his supporters. In a stunning verdict, Engoron found that Trump committed fraud by inflating the value of his properties, including Mar-a-Lago. The judge's valuation of the property at $18 million has shocked real estate experts who say it's considerably below its true market value. A prominent Palm Beach real estate broker called the $18 million valuation "utterly delusional" and suggested that the property could easily fetch over $300 million today. Judge Engoron argued that the property's value had been inflated by a staggering 2,500%! This valuation was based on Palm Beach Assessor records ranging from $18 million to $28 million between 2011 and 2021, which some experts argue fails to consider the fair market value. Comparing nearby properties, a 2-acre lot just minutes away from Mar-a-Lago is listed for $150 million, and a 2.3-acre plot is on the market for $200 million. Trump's estate spans 20 acres and includes a 20,000-square-foot ballroom, five clay tennis courts, and a sprawling waterfront pool. MORE ABOUT THE BOMBSHELL RULING: In addition to the valuation, Engoron revoked the New York "business certificates" held by the Trump Organization and other New York-based businesses associated with the former president and his family. He also mandated an independent third party to oversee the "dissolution of the cancelled LLCs." In response to the ruling, Trump denounced it as a "Witch Hunt" in a lengthy statement, calling for intervention from the highest courts. The legal battle surrounding Trump's financial dealings continues to be a focal point in the political and legal arena. Do you believe this is yet another attempt to smear Trump and stop his reelection? Or is justice catching up to the former President?
