@FatHorseoffcial @cor_marine Tense is sometimes used to refer to combined tense/aspect and in that case you are dealing with 8 'tenses' because there are 4 aspects (bare, progressive, perfect, perfect-progressive) but learning materials will often list 12 or 16 such tenses.

@FatHorseoffcial @cor_marine The tense/aspect/mood system of English is taught incorrectly. English has only two tenses (past and non-past) and use of modals like "will" is not obligatory. Generally it is valid to attach future time references to 'present' constructions and no separate 'future' tense exists.
