Anyone else remember shopping here? Growing up, that's where Mom did her weekly grocery shopping with me in tow.

Wilfried Zaha made almost no impact in Charlotte FC's 2-2 home draw vs FC Cincinnati, Dean Smith laments the lack of meaningful touches and shares what he did to try to remedy the situation:

@CarrollRogers @Mdubfromnb2286 Showed a lot of moxie in the 2nd half. Diani was outstanding on penetrating the left side before setting up Pep for the game tying goal. Morrison is a beast…

Charlotte FC comes back from two goals down to draw Cincinnati 2-2. It's the 1st time they've come back from two goals down to draw since April 1, 2023 in Toronto. It gave 26,252 at Bank of America something to rally around after a dormant first half. Goals by Toklomati and Biel.

@SoccerCityCLT @CharlotteFC I see both sides, but in the end Zaha adds much more than any negative. We get the whole Wilf, or no Wilf. And Deano is 80% correct

Wilfried Zaha has 10 Yellow Cards in his last 13 matches for @CharlotteFC, including one for dissent last match. Dean Smith considers it unfair treatment of his superstar winger and continues speaking out about it:

@CarrollRogers Press conferences were for the press, not for the general public. So that writers could relay the story. Another thing that social media has ruined. What do you expect him to say, that we suck? He picked the wrong team? Imagine you telling your boss you suck. Dare you.

When asked about lineup choice Dean Smith pointed to having three road games in a week, Toffolo being injured, Ream coming back from injury and having multiple players in their 30s.

@johnfyoungblood Agree with that, only thing is that Diani may not have had the speed to match their quickness in build up last night. They just came out flying

@lencornacchia If you commit numbers centrally including inverting a fullback into midfield it can get players who don’t look like they can progress the ball to have several options. And we do have a hard nose 6 (Diani) but Dean plays him as a free-roaming 8 which he’s not

They are so much better than us and it’s coaching. It’s tactics. Their squad has not changed drastically for BJ

Dean Smith “To be fair they’re the best team we’ve?4 played this season. They could have blown us away within the first 30 minutes. The pace, the tempo, the power they showed against us we could have really lost it. But we hung in there which is credit to the players but we can’t

@johnfyoungblood But who do we have to advance the ball centrally? That's the issue... BB? no, and Dean relies on Westy to cover the back, the combo of those two prevents the team from being able to do just that. If LDLT, he would need more of hard nose 6 to cover him, which we don't have.

@lencornacchia You can’t abandon central progression just because it’s taking more risk with the ball. By giving up central areas you’re only able to play long ball or have a pressing structure that can get you high turnovers. It’s limiting

@johnfyoungblood And as much as we love BBs grit & hustle, he contribute little in possession. So playing the ball through the middle with him and Westwood doesn’t work.

@lencornacchia They don’t they’re being made to look good by the system & the tactics. BJ has them playing intricate buildup and positionally so sound in & out of possession

@johnfyoungblood How would you have the team play then? We can’t press, trying that led to their third goal pretty quickly. Were a mid block team that normally plays up the wings.
