This is one of the most hilarious situations in the league. Miami Heat kept Nikola Jovic “untouchable” for KD and gave him a 60M four year extension. He’s now averaging 7 PPG since November and has played one game in the past month.

@lenunu I certainly didn’t say a dumb deal. I said acquire assets for vets who might not be back. The idea to stay in position to make another run at Giannis (or any other star who could become available) is wise.

Disappointing deadline for Heat fans. The Giannis stuff I can understand. Milwaukee clearly wasn’t ready to move him yet. But not getting some assets? Moving a vet to get pick/s? Missed opportunity to try and pivot to next phase IMO. Status quo just hard to sell right now.

@lenunu No … many of us have said that if we’re not going to get Giannis; we’d like to see them pivot to using some of the vets to get some assets back. They’ve done neither.

No we blame the front office for not having the assets necessary to make it a no brainer.

@Alf954 What vets?? Powell? He's a contingency plan if we trade Herro, Fonteccio? For what a 2nd rounder? Wiggins will still be under contract as a piece in the off season. Everybody else is not with selling off just yet or not valuable enough
