Hurdle over 1m7f going right handed at Auteil (on good) 15/05/21 - 3/9. Hurdle over 1m7f going right handed at Auteil (on heavy) 05/06/21 - 3/14. Hurdle over 1m7f going right handed at Auteil (on very soft) [Switched to Willy Mullins] 15/03/22 - 2/21. Hurdle over 2m going left handed at Cheltenham (at the festival) for the first time (on good to soft) 6/12/22 - 1/10. Hurdle over 2m going right handed at Tramore (on soft) 17/01/23 - 1/6. Hurdle over 2m going right handed at Clonmel (on heavy) 05/02/23 - 1/17. Hurdle over 2m going left handed at Leopardstown (on yielding). A lovely result at a top festival again, going left handed 15/03/23 - 2/10. Ballymore Hurdle over 2m5f going left handed at Cheltenham (not a bad result going left haded at the festival... half a mile over what he has ever ran before). Behind Impaire Et Passe who is a top top hurdler so no mean feat 26/04/23 - 1/9. G1 Hurdle winning over 2m7f going right handed at Punchestown. Comfortable chase win over Il Etait Temps (top horse) over 2m4f going right handed at Limerick (heavy) 04/02/24. Unseated Townend whilst going left handed at Leopardstown My thoughts: - He is very reliable on heavy and soft, so no qualms there with whatever the ground tomorrow - He has won comfortably over 2m multiple times... whilst also winning over 2m3f and 3m... so just because the recent from is further than 2m that doesnt mean he can't step back in trip and win well. It seems a lot of people have very short term memory - His first run in Ireland going left handed was at DRF last year and he won comfortably over 16 rivals. Slightly jumped right but wasnt an issue - At the festival he has come 2/21 (not bad on his stable debut after some average racing in France) and 2/10 (behind a top horse whilst stepping up in trip for the first time). He is a much better horse now and going left handed around Cheltenham is not an issue - Yes he jumps slightly right & that made him unseat Paul LTO but that was the first time he has done so... and in a 2 horse race with Fact To File it's a different proposition to what he will face in the Arkle. It feels like this is what everyone has in their head who is against him I do not think, at all, that going left handed around Cheltenham over 2M is an issue for him. Paul must believe so too after picking him over Il Etait Temps (who he has already beat) even though he was unseated going left handed last time out. I am fully on board.
