talked to @itsmikerose On raising VC: Most of the time, there are more reasons not to raise than to raise. VC money comes with real tradeoffs, loss of control, ownership dilution, and being locked into a path. Theres VC backed founders who can't pay themselves, their employees, or even sell if they wanted to, so know what you're getting yourself locked into. On timing: He compared it to Call of Duty, don't spray bullets at a door hoping someone walks through. Wait until you see the target. Starting a company should come from a strong calling with a clear reason, not just "I don't want a job." ~90% of his investment passes are founder-based, not product-based. Even if the business has traction, if the founder can't present well, answer questions sharply, or inspire future employees, he's out. He sees that as a ceiling on the company's potential.
