Many lizards drop their tails to escape predators, and regrow a near perfect replacement. That new tail is devoid of bone, instead housing a cone of (very pretty) cartilage.

@ravenscimaven I was too tired to move from my bed for almost 3 months with Covid and lost 20% of my bodyweight. I was sick for long enough that I felt like I was never going to get better. After that 3 months basically felt back to normal, but took 1.5 years to get back to my normal weight

TW// eating + weight It's been up and down for me today in my healing journey but the big win is that I have had an appetite for a full day so far. I have lost TWENTY pounds in the past month. I was at 188 beginning of December and now I'm at 168. I weighed this in HIGH SCHOOL.

I'm disappointed as a veterinary student. And I am disappointed as an owner who wants there to be quality care available for the entirety of my pets long lives

I really encourage everyone to sign the petition the keep the OVC Avian and Exotics Service open. OVC is the only veterinary school in Ontario, a province where it's already exceedingly difficult to find vet care for exotic pets chng.it/PMHv6vxvxm

Very sad and disappointed that the OVC is closing the avian and exotics service which effectively cuts off exotic animal vet education at the base. Especially considering that the @OVCPetTrust just funded 8.4M for specialty vet service.
