The voice of nuance here: Having children, watching them grow, and raising them *can* be the most rewarding thing you do. It is also routinely listed in the top 3 most stressful events a person goes through, right up there with prison and the sudden death of a spouse. To pretend its not immensely challenging would be, at best, unintentionally dishonest by omission and, at worst, an intentionly dishonest "psyop" of sorts. With all of that said, what I *imagine* happens is that having kids is the ultimate stress test for all areas of your life, including your character and emotional maturity. It certainly was for me/us. If you fail, you break into the despair of regret. If you pass, your life becomes rich beyond measure. This, btw, is one of the main reasons I think it's a REALLY bad idea to push people to have kids who aren't sure/not interested. Because each kid is either a net positive or net negative on society. There's a much higher chance you produce the latter IF you didn't want kids but find yourself with one. Yes, people's minds change after holding their baby for the first time. I've seen it. But holy shit, what a gamble to take.

One reason I'm pretty concerned for employment in 2027 and beyond: It's Just Easier to Work With AI Agents Now that we have 20+ truly in production, there are pros and cons. They have to be trained. It's still early. They all have limits. We need to manage them daily. But it's still easier that finding, hiring, managing, retaining, etc. humans. It's just ... easier. I think most companies will choose that. Even if a great human is better than an AI Agent, a great Agent is just so much easier to work with than an average human hire.

I think China's second DeepSeek moment is here. This AI agent called 'Manus' is going crazy viral in China right now. Probably only a matter of time until it hits the US. It's like Deep Research + Operator + Claude Computer combined, and it's REALLY good.
