My American friends, I'm facing a major problem here. When I say I want to eat American BBQ, some Americans say, "come to Texas," others say, "come to South Carolina," and still others say, "come to Missouri." I'm confused. Are you guys going to start a BBQ civil war?

Let me get this straight: Beers before a 10am flight? Typical sight. Mimosas at brunch? Accepted. Power-hour martinis at 1pm? No problem. Pitchers at happy hour? Standard. Delicious Cab with your steak? Classy. Drinking by the pool all day? Encouraged. But a little cannabis in the quiet of the night makes you a f@cking degenerate? Get real.

@saber_k086 There is a documentary called "Birthgap" which explains this phenomenon very well. In short it's driven by people delaying having kids, which in turn drives up the rate of childlessness in general, because many simply wait too long.

@teniscat @P_McCulloughMD @McCulloughFund I believe this uses VAERS data, meaning the death followed MMR vaccination, and there was enough suspicion that the death might be vaccine related for a practitioner to fill put a VAERS report

@P_McCulloughMD @McCulloughFund So if 10 kids die of measles and hundreds die of car accidents post-vaccination, you’re right. And 10 less kids would have died if they’d gotten vaccinated. So what’s your point?

Dr. Peter McCullough says more children have died following the MMR vaccine since the 1990s than from measles itself. “We analyzed how many babies died after the MMR vaccine, since the 1990s.” “I think there was over 100 kids, maybe 200 kids died.” “It was a combination of vaccines, but they found them dead in their bassinet.” “How many people died of measles during that same time? About 6 or 8.” “So there are risks, that’s the point. Nothing is risk-free.” @TheoVon @P_McCulloughMD

@AlexBerenson It's an easier call not to get the flu shot, but the controversy on most vaccines is not whether they "work", but whether they're safe enough to be worth the risk. And the safety data on all of them is inadequate at best and very concerning at worst

@JoshPhillipsPhD For me it was the book that changed my life. I got it in an airport as a middle schooler but wasn't able to finish it until college. Still, it inspired me to learn Russian and enjoy classic literature. I don't know if it's technically the best, but for me it's the most important.

How are people still tricked by this god stuff in 2026? I get it in 1026 when your entire world was a square mile in size. We see 13 billion light years in to the universe now and have science and technology. I don’t get it.

@ChrisMartin1961 @JNelsonRN If you did everything you just said these days, you would likely still be carrying student debt and you wouldn't be able to buy a house for 3x salary in many places. It would be harder to save too with higher car costs, insurance premiums, etc.

@JNelsonRN You may have had it good, not all of us. I worked three jobs, went to school and got four degrees. I worked at least 60 hours a week for decades. My first house was 980 square feet and cost me three times my yearly salary. This notion that all Boomers had it easy is bullshit!

I’m seeing, yet again, this surge of hatred for the Boomer generation. I’m a late season Boomer, born in 1961; I’ve worked for nearly 50 years, have been in the same profession for 37 years, I’ve routinely worked 45-60 hours a week. I don’t get why we are so vilified.

@ChrisMartin1961 I think the main reason boomers are disliked is because they tend to insist everything was harder for them and nothing has gotten worse for younger generations, which is just not true. Also, they tend not to give an inheritance to their kids, even when they can.

A crying baby on a plane is an even better litmus test than the shopping cart. If it genuinely makes you angry, you have no empathy. No compassion. No soul. No ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes. You are the epitome of what's wrong with the modern world.

I am an Alabama resident. The state of Alabama has a higher GDP per capita than Canada; $66,300 vs. $58,000. We also have lower taxes. As such, Alabamians have more disposable income than Canadians. We can afford nice houses for a fraction of the cost that they would cost in Canada. The median home price in Alabama is around $220,000. In Canada, the median is about $650,000. In Alabama, that could get you a very nice 4,000 square-foot house. A lot of successful people live here. Huntsville, for instance, is home to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and a university. They have among the highest number of Ph.D.'s per capita as a result of that. Has Canada sent man to the moon? I'm asking for a friend. There's also Auburn University and the University of Alabama down in Tuscaloosa. They are both very good schools for a college education. Alabama has more daylight hours and better weather, on average. We get more Vitamin D because we can spend more time outdoors. Alabama also doesn't have a carbon tax because our governor doesn't believe in the fairytale that trace carbon dioxide (CO₂) controls the weather. Where Canada arguably has an advantage is in social safety (e.g., violent crime rates) and health (e.g. life expectancy), but it comes at the expense of taxpayers, which reduces individual freedom. Here in the states, you need to work to bring yourself up, and if you do that and put the work in, you have better material living.

@learning_yohei Only certain parts of the UK speak English in an elegant way. Other parts sound very rough. American English is definitely simpler. We use less complicated vocabulary and easier sentence structure. It can be very sloppy sounding, and we use a ton of slang terms and idioms.
