I am pretty sure my math is right here, but this winter would have been Ozzie Albies' free agency had he not signed the lengthy contract extension in 2019
Also, he has been in the majors 6.5 years at this point. How is that possible

This was all about getting Kerr, a power left-handed reliever who has options and is controllable. The Braves really like his stuff and upside. Carpenter will likely be traded like Gonzales and Stassi were after being acquired over the past few weeks.

All-time great *mean* projection for his career.

@leprekhan Is he slated to come back around August? Role with a rotation of Elder, Morton, Fried, and Strider with Winans, AJSS, Vines and others until then?

I'm not saying that signing Woodruff is necessarily a bad idea (depends on terms and what his medicals look like), but I don't see that being the Braves' move to address their rotation given the immediate need in 2024.

@leprekhan still think Woodruff. Doesnt block the young guys to start the season. Comes in later. Sign him to a similar structure to Yates.

Honestly thought the Braves would push to sign him. The market for starters that aren't going to cost nine figures continues to get thinner and thinner.
