RENEWAL OF EXISTING LONG-TERM VISA - TRR IN SOUTH AFRICA If you are renewing your existing long-term visa TRR- while remaining in South Africa: 1. Police Clearance: You do NOT need to submit a police clearance from your country of origin. 2. Medical Report: You do NOT need to do a medical report - urine and blood sugar tests are not required. 3. Radiological Report: You do NOT need to do a chest X-ray. When you are applying for a TRC - Change of Conditions on your existing visa, then the medical report, chest X-ray, and police clearance are compulsory. Biometrics & Police Clearance: For Visa and PRP applications, police clearances are done through VFS. Your biometrics and passport will be captured on the day you lodge your application. This applies every time you apply. First-time applications: For all first-time applications, the medical report, chest X-ray, and police clearance from your country of origin are compulsory. By the time you apply PRP - SA will automatically do the checks as all your details are captured via your biometrics -cutiing down on repeatable useless papers clogging the system

I just saw a TikTok video of a group of South Africans on vacation being chased out of a restaurant in Mozambique by the owner. 😫Guys, does this mean we won’t be able to visit Mozambique anymore?

As for me, my position on retaliation is open and unbiased. South Africans everywhere in Africa should be harassed, hooted at and told to go back to their country. When they try to misbehave like what the South African woman in the video did, he/she should be given a taste of how Xenophobia feels like. They should be treated like goat thieves. Two wrongs make a right.

South Africans visiting Mozambique were harassed by a Mozambican while on vacation in the country LEGALLY. The stupid guy, who was fiming the entire interaction, couldn't answer when the group told them they only came for a short visit, and proceeded to scream when facts were being presented to him. Imagine fighting someone on a short holiday who's legal in your country and who's spending is creating jobs and boosting the economy... mind blowing.

I won’t lie guys. I’m actually really tired of seeing South Africans be xenophobic and weird and hateful on Twitter, Insta, TikTok. We get it. You hate Africans and want them gone from your country. But you’re in every comment section spewing hate even where it’s not about SA.

@AneleLekane @phethani4 Did you see the number of children in those repatriation camps? Haaibo they'll outnumber south African children in near future if we follow the route of giving them legal status

The child may not be a South African citizen but she still a South African national, there should be a clear bathway for children in her situation to get documented be it a temporary residence visa or permanent residence move the child turn 18 and she can follow the normal pathway to naturalisation should she wish...I'm uncomfortable with the notion that someone can be punished for their fathers sins ...this is the very same country that will guarantee the right to life for the most ratchet of souls but deny a legal status to a child that who's crime was be born

Truly heartbreaking, but the purpose of this post was not to highlight the situation as it is. Larry follows us with a tweet later on and says that the father did not document himself because he heard it was expensive. But by doing that, he is standing on her dreams of being a doctor. She can complete basic education, but she cannot have a future, no ID, no bank account, etc., and all the other structural barriers which come from not being documented. This is truly heartbreaking indeed – a child being denied a future by adults who refuse to be responsible. We are not killing ourselves for Africa enough at all! It's not a sympathy olympics, man; it's real lives being affected by the irresponsibility of elders and also our leaders continentally overall.

I haven't stopped thinking about a brilliant little girl named Faith that I met outside the Malawian consulate in Joburg. She was born in South Africa but her whole family is undocumented. Her dad - a gardener - said they were kicked out of their house and he lost his job

KZN flood victims only got a place to stay this year. 4 years later. Wena your heart bleeds for people who’ve been outside for two weeks and their own government doesn’t care about them
Meshack Bevhula@MeshackBevhulas

As much as I want them to go, my heart bled today when I drove past the area in Woodmead where many Malawian people are camping. Damn, in this freezing cold. It’s a heartbreaking sight, regardless of where anyone stands on the issue.

A 27-year-old Zimbabwean national, Dorosi Bande, has been sentenced to an effective 131 years’ direct imprisonment by the Pretoria North Magistrates’ Court for a string of violent crimes committed between 2018 and 2021. Bande was convicted of multiple counts of housebreaking, robbery with aggravating circumstances, rape, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and being in South Africa illegally. During his crime spree, he targeted 10 households in Pretoria North, robbing victims at gunpoint and raping two women, including one in the presence of her husband. He was arrested in March 2021 after police received information that he was selling stolen goods under a railway bridge in Pretoria North. Despite pleading not guilty, the State secured his conviction through victim testimony and other evidence. The court found that Bande showed no remorse, described his actions as “monstrous”, and imposed severe sentences to reflect the seriousness of the offences and deter similar crimes. In addition to the prison term, the court ordered that Bande be deported to Zimbabwe after serving his sentence and declared him unfit to possess a firearm. The National Prosecuting Authority welcomed the sentence, saying it demonstrates its commitment to prosecuting violent crimes, particularly those committed against women and other vulnerable members of society.
