@lesleyfleck I’ve been very clear. I’m sorry you fail to understand.
English

Danny La Rue was a female impersonator.
Barry Humphries played Dame Edna as a comedy character.
Les Dawson & Roy Barraclough played Cissie & Ada as comedic tributes to the women of their times.
Kenny Everett played Cupid Stunt as an OTT American starlet character. Again not drag.
Hinge & Bracket were old-school musical vaudevillians.
Harris Milstead (Divine) was a character actor & part-time drag queen, whose act wanted to be taken seriously.
Lily Savage (Paul O’Grady) was an old-school drag queen, whose act was based on the tough women he grew up with.
Regina Fong (Reg Bundy) was another old-school vaudevillian, whose act was camp, very funny & inventive, relying on repetition of a routine that the audience would know & emulate. They’d join in.
None of these performers exhibited a deep-rooted loathing for women, & yet are now tarred with the same brush as modern day “drag queens”.
You CANNOT compare these artistes with the talentless, runway, slut-dropping, sashaying wannabes, that people refer to as “drag queens” today, many of whom lampoon & degrade women in deeply misogynistic ways. (See Ru Paul’s Drag Race).
They are not the same thing.
Style-wise, they have much more in common with the various Houses (LaBeija, ‘68, Corey, ‘72, Xtravaganza ‘82, Ninja, ‘82, Ebony ‘78) & the Tea Dances & later the Ballroom Dances of New York, where gay men would dress up & “throw shade”.
Learn the difference.

@DreyfusJames I'm sorry. I like your X posts and I like your old school gay vibe but I don't understand your point this time. Maybe explain better. And please don't emoji me thank you. Rude.
English

@lesleyfleck I know you don’t. Because you are not comprehending my point. At all. 🙄
English

@DreyfusJames It's still a man dressing up as a woman. Les Dawson pushed his 'boobs' together. I was not insulted. If he could have jumped up and done the splits he might have because that would have been funny. I don't know what you're actually annoyed about.
English

@lesleyfleck You’re missing my point. They’re not the same as the original meaning of “drag”.

Hobbes update.
Because he’s been in & out of a cone for nearly 4 months now, due to his obsessive-compulsive desire to eat his own leg, through no fault of his own, he’s now on a crash diet.
He’s back at school from next week 🤞🏻so, hopefully, he can ditch the junk from his trunk…
Go Hobbes! You can do it!!

This is Olivia. She may be joining the Rosebud Family as Charlotte’s successor. Charlotte created the Rosebud cupcakes given to our star guests - see rosebudpodcast.co.uk for the recipe. Do you eat your cupcake by hand or with a fork?
English

@HelenWebberley We have & we do. More accurately than yourself, incidentally…🙄

@Glinner @marksandspencer Glasgow will fit them for a bra! Yaaay. It will be done by a lovely lady who looks like everyone's mum. No drama.

Giving birth is obviously an incredibly challenging experience for the mother - trust me, nobody is denying that. I do think though, that fathers should be shown more respect by the NHS during the whole process.
No food provided, no basic bedding, nothing.
The father is having a child too - potentially staying multiple nights, sleeping on the floor or a chair?
If the NHS can find hundreds of millions for translation/interpretation and the rest of the diversity bullshit, then surely a few campbeds in each ward isn't such an impossible investment? A bowl of pasta for the dad, who does actually pay for that meal through his own taxes?
I've asked the Department of Health to reconsider their approach.
It would be nice if fathers weren't treated as some awkward afterthought, during the process and so often across wider society.
Let's give dads the respect they deserve.

@piersmorgan I don't think the young uns really care
They seem quite ok about it all.

Update.
CT scan for further investigation as X-ray is inconclusive.
Lovely doctor didn’t want me to wait till Tuesday to hear.
No point in worrying about something that might be nothing.
Besides, there’s still plenty of stuff to get worked up about here on X instead 😁🤣
Thanks for lovely messages tho. Stand down. 😁
