Per BGFD, The Bowling Green Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire located at 627 Loving Way around 17:18. A total of eight units responded to the call.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames visible from the residence. Crews immediately initiated search and rescue operations while also working to contain and extinguish the fire.
During the search, one juvenile victim was located inside the structure. Fire crews quickly removed the victim from the home and rendered immediate medical aid on scene. The child was then transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
Despite the best efforts of emergency responders and hospital staff, the juvenile succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire.
At this time, no other injuries have been reported. The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
This is a heartbreaking loss for our community. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and everyone impacted. Please know that our thoughts are with you.
