they also wouldn't be harassed by SEA nations about their claims to the South China Sea
the nuke shuts everyone up, not just USA and PRC, North Korea is proof

same reason why American forces blocked the old PLA from crossing the strait to finish off the KMT
as for Taiwan nukes, PRC reaction would be the same as to North Korea - they wouldn't be happy but they'd have to accept it
