Most people who say they dropped rz were never even supporting them in the first place and just bunch of multis. We’re still doing great, they just make a lot of noise on twt 😆😅 We survived 2024 already, we are strong!

@Shotaro1539692 You’re right and that is wrong. I’ll be completely honest I had this internalized colorism growing up in an asian household. It’s definitely a deeper rooted issue and we should speak out. I hope he’s educating himself on this and that’s where the nuance comes in.

@letschikkit So for example if I go out into the sun and say “ew I’m getting too black I need to go back inside” that’s internalized colorism. Wouldn’t that be disrespectful towards darkskin? This should be pointed out and spoken against we are defending ourselves.

I’ve sat and thought about the eunseok situation and some may think this is insensitive but if your not korean or not asian I think you should take the time to understand cultural nuance before you completely rip this man to shreds. Growing up in an asian household colorism is +

@jeannesbbg so I’m actually brown myself and I’m not defending or trying to convince ppl to forgive him. I personally believe this situation isn’t clear cut and taking time to understand nuance and critically think is important before I call for a member to be kicked out

@noirshadoww you’ve seemed to misunderstand me. I’m not looking to debate you, I’m open to having a conversation and gave context as to why. we’re not going to see eye to eye so we can drop it. the reality is there’s a world outside of twt and we should think critically beyond what we see.

@letschikkit mind u my resp came not like u minutes later first of all, second there’s nothing to debate about as i already answered you, third don’t insult and degrade a stranger like that when the debate is about something serious which obviously effects me in this situation.

@noirshadoww like genuinely touch grass, get a life, and go to school so you can respond to me with a valid response rather than a haha gotcha moment. I’m open to having a conversation, my profession involves debate so please give it a go

@noirshadoww I actually I have a life outside of the internet with irl korean friends who have lived both in korea and america who explained how common this word is bc there is no word for tan. making the inference from this situation that he would call a black person the n word is projection

@letschikkit project this bs my ass, u have enough proof online but sadly no korean moot to enlighten u with what has been said and done. and idc whether ur poc or not, u surely ain’t black bc if so lets bfr that would be ur first argument - not that i see someone black letting him slide LOL

@Shotaro1539692 I said this is reference to him talking about a childhood picture of himself because a lot of ppl were talking about how weird he is to call his younger self that word but there’s a deeper nuance that I think it would help to consider.

@Shotaro1539692 No, this is why I suggested using critical thinking as a non korean or non asian bc colorism is often internalized rather than projected on to others. I can’t speak for him but he has shown respect for their choreographers in content. i am poc and I met him irl and he was kind 🤷🏽‍♀️

@dovebats there is no word for tan, ppl use the word for black, which many clarified. He used the word in reference to himself and yes as a global group member he should be aware of all contexts and he apologized. up to you to accept or not but projecting other evil intentions doesn’t sit

@dovebats I think you completely misunderstood what I was trying to express. In no way was I saying “black people are insensitive” I trying to open a dialogue about taking the time to understand cultural nuance before telling a man to kill himself. In most languages other than english +

@jiaermusic I’m not gonna sit here and beg you to give him grace because that’s not my job. But this situation is nuanced and all I’m trying to say is this isn’t clear cut. Rather than push this man into depression let’s take a second before bashing him on the internet

@letschikkit A lot of the response reads as he apologized now get over it and shut up. Now I’m not saying i see him as irredeemable or that he had racist intentions. It’s just those things mentioned along with a continued dismissal and a push to “give grace” does not do anything to help.

@jiaermusic I get that as a global idol he should educate himself but that’s what he’s doing now and I think that’s where giving grace comes in. ppl like blackpink on camera said the n word are still successful, attending the met gala with no apology. In that case that is blatant disrespect.

@jiaermusic this was directed at people who want him kicked out of the group. there is so much history behind the n word but to automatically equate this word to that bc there is no direct translation is the issue. He didn’t use the word in a slur context and once he realized he apologized

eunseok apologized now, BUT some “briizes” were moving like they hated him from the start and waiting to cancel him and even making assumptions about other members, but i better not see y’all defending riize ever again cuz you do not deserve these boys and you’re a fake fan

stanning K-pop but being so quick to bash idols and ignore their side of the story just cuz of some 'all Koreans are racist' stereotype. who is the actual racist one?

a little note, in my native language there is also no word for tan so when we describe getting tanner we use the word for black but there’s context for it. That may be cancelable but if you want to cancel a billion people and a language that is 900 years old take time to reflect

hold everyone accountable. That’s my two cents but I know that kpop fans have herd mentality and would rather send an idol into depression than actually take the time to reflect and understand themselves.
