At the end of the day, if they get a haul and load up their team - their TEAM will be better for the long haul. If Fields stays and sucks, they can hit free agency for a QB or draft next year and have a WAY better team ready for whoever comes in.
Or Fields could prove a lot of people wrong.
Imo, Chicago should load up and build for the long haul like the Lions did year over year and not swing for a QB. At the end of the day you can be a dream landing spot for a free agent QB next year with a loaded roster.
Just remember - the 49ers gave up 3 first round picks for Trey Lance a couple years ago. For the #3 pick.
They could get a HAUL for #1.

Might be fake news - but I actually think the Giants are suitors to trade up for the #1 pick.
I also think it’s in the best interest of the Bears to get a haul for that pick and keep Fields.
Time will tell.
