@Citymapper is it true you're sharing our location with third parties? Can premium accounts be opted out of this? I've revoked location permissions for now.

@stanansems still loving Statshunters! On Firefox I'm seeing the squares/routes/activities layer get duplicated and move indepdentantly of the map. Not seeing this in Safari.

@stanansems Still happening on 137.0 (which I think is non-Beta). I saw the same on Firefox for Mobile (Beta), Android.

@manutaust @visakanv And probably worth mentioning that "du" is a contraction of "de le". So it's definitely "le mal" and not "un mal" in the title.

@visakanv french dude here: no, 'mal' in the title definitely refers to Evil. Le Mal = Evil, and 'un mal' can mean an evil, or an ill, or a malcontent

i don't speak french, but i flinch a little bit whenever i see 'les fleurs du mal' translated as 'the flowers of evil'. it doesn't seem to me that mal is straightforwardly just evil. isn't it the same root of words like malaise, malcontent? I'd prefer 'the flowers of sin'

@bscholl For those of you wondering about fuel consumption, by their own account they expect it to consume 2-3x the equivalent subsonic flights. Flying is _already_ the most damaging thing an individual can do for the planet🤦‍♂️

Civilian supersonic flight returns... Tuesday. Having worked toward this moment for over a decade, this feels surreal. A few reflections 🧵?

AB 73 passed Assembly Transportation Committee today! This bill allows bicycle riders age 18 & older to treat stop signs as yield signs when safe to do so. 9 other states already allow policies like these because the data shows it's safer for cyclists & other drivers. 🚲 #CALeg

It's buggy as hell, I'm shocked by how much time is spent in the terminal for trivial things (normies will use this?), and Ubuntu's sandboxing means things that should be simple, like getting Firefox 1Password extension talking to the 1Password app are overly complex.

Seeing a lot of hype around this being the year of Linux on the desktop. As someone who's used OSX/MacOS for 20+ years and switched to Ubuntu to keep my personal computer alive a little longer, I have to say that I can't wait to buy a new Mac and be back on MacOS

@CTowersCBS Also, loud mopeds are everywhere here but not in the US. Basing most of this on my experience living in San Francisco, which is much quieter than NY, for example.

@CTowersCBS Where in Paris? Parts of Paris have small single lane roads with low traffic, and there I agree. Also, sirens are much quieter in Europe in general than in the US. But many parts of Paris are still very car-heavy and Parisians have a deep fondness for laying on their horns.

One thing I’ve noticed being in Paris and now Madrid: Even the extremely busy streets are just much quieter here than in similar cities in the US. Has to mostly be smaller/lighter cars and lower speed limits, right?

@aarmlovi I've had the same reflection about "conventional" vs organic agriculture. There's nothing conventional about the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizer

Odd thing about the urbanism debate: -Progressives are associated with the walkable urbanism humans have locally used for 5,000 years -"Trads" advocate a radical, untested suburban automobility invented in 1950 by UltraModernist Highway Communists in the federal government

@PaoloRicciuti It makes it hard to move tests from integration to component. Another shortcoming of SvelteKit testing: given it's a full-stack framework I'd expect E2E testing with component testing performance; ie I shouldn't need to run a headless browser to execute my endpoints, just JSDom

@PaoloRicciuti thanks for the talk on how to test #SvelteKit. One reason I never set up testing library is that it is disappointing that it has a different syntax from playwright for finding elements, making assertions, sync vs async, etc.

@vinistock Great, thanks for explaining. The docs you shared mentioned performance issues and I suspected it was that but didn't previously understand why.

@lewilllma Type annotations help cut the recursiveness because then the checker already knows what a method returns. They also encapsulate the developer's intent. So even if the code is incomplete while they are typing, the annotations help provide accurate analysis.

We just released v0.16.5 of the Ruby LSP with the first iteration of method support for go to definition! We will continue iterating to handle more method types and improve accuracy as much as possible. Please let us know if you have feedback and happy coding!
