Idiolect 2 - Spring, 2026 mixcloud.com/llacook/idiole…
Idiolect is an odd, if simple idea: what if a literary magazine were a kind of podcast/radio show, where the work of various poets was read to musical backing, preferably experimental electronics.

Idiolect 2 is here!
What if a literary magazine was an experimental electronic music podcast? Idiolect features the work of various poets, read aloud to backing made with modular synthesizers and studio shenanigans.

its wave of splendor
is overflowing again into every

@RightsideRa@BobGolen Why should I crack open Roman’s 13 when I can, you know, observe history? Do you think you “Christians” are really any different than Islam?
@lewislacook Oh Lewis, bless your heart—equating biblical civil government to a Caliphate? That’s not deep theology, that’s whataboutism on steroids. 😂
A Caliphate is an Islamic theocracy where one guy (the “caliph,” Muhammad’s supposed successor) fuses mosque + state, forces Sharia on everyone, and rules by religious conquest or else. Zero separation, zero tolerance for unbelievers in power.
The Bible? Straight-up different universe. Romans 13:1-4 calls every governing authority “God’s minister” and “servant” who bears the sword to restrain evil and promote good—even if the ruler is pagan, secular, or wicked. God sovereignly “removes kings and sets up kings” (Daniel 2:21) for His purposes. He anointed pagan Cyrus the Persian (Isaiah 45:1) and used Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian idolater without ever demanding a theocratic state or forced conversions.
That’s why Christians can vote for a flawed, non-theocrat like Trump (or any leader) without turning America into Iran 2.0. It’s common-grace civil order, not “submit to my religion or die.”
One demands jihadist uniformity under a man playing prophet-king. The other submits to God’s providence over imperfect humans in a pluralistic world.
Try cracking open Romans 13 before you play “gotcha” next time, champ. The difference is literally night and day… or should I say, cross and crescent. 🔥

In the Bible Governing bodies are described as "ministers of God" tasked with restraining evil and promoting good. They "bear the sword" to execute justice and maintain peace.
Sovereignty Over History: Biblical texts like Daniel 2:21 state that God "removes kings and sets up kings," suggesting that no leader rises to power outside of His ultimate providential plan—even those who are wicked or secular.
@RightsideRa@BobGolen So you’re saying God didn’t need to levy illegal tariffs, the biggest tax increase on the middle class in my lifetime?
Why Trump, then?
@lewislacook@BobGolen God, who came in human form as Jesus, isn't here to solve worldly problems. He came to save sinners. Nevertheless, he appoints the governing authorities.
