@nekaishi @TomiPicklez British person from the 90s here! Plenty of multiculturalism in my life at school. I don’t have an opinion as a die hard potter fan on the casting of snape, I think if he’s brilliant at acting it, then excellent choice! Simple. We haven’t seen enough but I like what I see

Anyone defending—or calling fans racist over questioning—the casting choice for Snape, is also completely, and logically okay remaking Black Panther as a White man I think that's wrong "Snape’s face was like a death mask. It was marble white" Snape's sallow skin had gone the color of sour milk "Snape's pale, pointed face" "Snape's face was pale and clammy"

@lexehlex @ThatGongTho @TwinkTheory The mistake here is “absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.” Just because the process was not described does not mean there is no process. The principle of “no conjuring something from nothing” is specifically stated.

How did Harry potters parents have all that cash for his trust fund? They died at 21 and the only jobs in the wizarding world are civil servant, barmaid, teacher or shop owner. Or is it just like magic? And if so how are the Weasleys poor like how far does magic go? Are they just bad at magic?

@lexehlex @TwinkTheory Thank you! I’d rather she just put together a short story collection of all the background instead of trying to dig around a website though. I’ll definitely look at the Wiki

@Temporary_Times @TwinkTheory JK Rowling has supplied a lot of extra writings on pottermore. and various other platforms about the wizarding world. I’m sad enough to read and remember everything, you can find a lot of this out on the wizarding world wiki

@TwinkTheory @ThatGongTho He doesn’t, he uses the refilling charm. The properties of the wine; a drop or so would still be there for it to work. He doesn’t conjure it. And wine isn’t food. You can transfigure food to be better or more; but you can’t conjure it from nothing.

@borisyeltzin @TwinkTheory Gamps law of elemental transfiguration forbids the conjuration of food from nothing. The food is preperated in the kitchens directly below the great hall by house eleven and then transported up onto the tables above.

@HogLegNews I agree with all of this! The brooms reallllly don’t sit well with me. Especially cos’ hufflepuffs look better. The one saviour is, we know Harry won’t have that nimbus too long and will get a new (hopefully better aesthetic broom) by book 3

@TwinkTheory Also it’s likely people would put protection spells on items. So you can use a refilling charm on a bottle of wine, but that wouldn’t make the wine maker much money. So you can assume to protect their product, these would be placed to stop that so you’d have to buy more.

@TwinkTheory Harry’s grandparents were famous potioneers. Created sleakeasys hair potion. Plus generations wealth. The weasleys are poor because magic doesn’t solve everything. You can’t conjure food, so food needs to be grown or bought. Clothes can be made, but Materials need to be bought

@TwinkTheory Book lists don’t always stay the same, you can expect the standard book of spells and potions books will be the same, and can be handed down. But defence against the dark arts teacher chose a different book each teacher, by 3rd year not all kids would pick the same subjects

@TwinkTheory When you have 7 children, all needed robes, wands books, equipment it gets expensive. Yes there’s hand me downs, like Ron wears and uses an old wand. Wands are 7 galleons, Harry notes that there is barely enough sickles in their vault.

@TwinkTheory There’s 7 Weasley’s, and one income. Arthur chose to do his passion of muggles in his job, which doesn’t pay well (UNTILL he is promoted in book 6) molly is a homemaker. She lets Arthur follow his passion of muggles, and she gets to do what she loves, raise a family.

@TwinkTheory You can duplicate things, but that doesn’t mean the quality will ensue - when the Geminio curse is placed on a object, the object is a worthless copy. You can assume if you duplicate food the quality would decline.

"They sat by the hour eating anything they could spear on a toasting fork — bread, English muffins, marshmallows — and plotting ways of getting Malfoy expelled, which were fun to talk about even if they wouldn’t work." — Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, ch 12.

Everyone being like ‘SNAPE ON A BROOM!? This show is ruined!’ Snape was the referee for the Quidditch match after Quirrel tried to eject Harry from his broom. He was placed there by Dumbeldore as an extra watch for Harry. It’s in the books, it’s in the series.
