All low income students are high achieving. They survived far more than most of you. Yeah that’s a subtweet.

Don’t, “I have a dream” your students later this month if you’re not willing to discuss the nightmares many of them are living through today.

White privilege is on display like never before in the U.S. Capitol. If these people were Black. . .well, we all know what would be happening right now to them.

I have this gut feeling that we missed a once-in-life opportunity to radically reset American Ed. in 2020 for very real greatness. Instead we chose to expend every resource imaginable in a fight to stuff the elements of business as usual into a virtual setting, in a pandemic.

today we interviewed an AirForce Pilot and an American Ninja Warrior to learn about the common good and how to become a leader! #virtuallearning #dalyes

Thank you to everyone who brought our letter writing unit to life! 2nd graders found facts about germs in the text and then taught “forgetful” adults how to stay germ free! Thanks for the letters back!! #virtuallearning

Not sure most people understand the number of high quality and hard working teachers who are truly on the verge of breakdowns due to being overworked and overwhelmed this school year.

anti-racist instruction does not mean “be nice to everyone.” BEING KIND IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING JUST AND EQUITABLE. There’s danger in that confusion

If the only time you feel BALANCED as an educator is on your DAY OFF that says something about the weight of being an educator. Something’s broken. It’s time to fix this.

just because we’ve “always done it that way” DOES NOT MEAN we need to keep doing it. The world will continue spinning if we don’t give standardized tests right now

@bxsmiles72 Yeah it is definitely a lot. I was giving them the option to “test” at a different pace in each room I don’t have permanent break out rooms and we spend most of the day together

Ummm...this seems like too much. I would rather share a google slide and see students collectively working and pop into rooms. Plus if I create permanent breakout rooms then I can schedule a visit through the week to check in on students.

virtual break out rooms that you can monitor made possible by using every computer/ monitor you find... yes I realize this is not possible for all but it’s an option to monitor behaviors in different rooms #virtual #teaching #2nd @DalyPrincipal

Teachers, stop trying to police children in their homes. It’s ridiculous and shows your incompetence. We are going through a pandemic. Empathy for others is what’s going to get us through this; not control and punishment.

Something I thought I’d never say as a teacher: “please take your pet chicken off the table. You can bring him back during our break” It’s so fun getting to know my students! #virtuallearning
