Reality is that moving a university’s athletics up TWO levels isn’t solely an eval of competition. The picture is far broader.

@BQuillmanQcast I have been watching a ton of D3 tournament games this year and it has been a blast. However, the Elite 8 games are scheduled in direct conflict with the first day of first round of NCAA Div. 1 tournament. Does this happen every year? Seems like a poor marketing decision.

My take:
1) I do think this was a foul.
2) The foul happened at 1.0.
3) Official, however, waited until 0.2 to call it.
4) They reviewed for timing. And in that situation you can only go by when the official *called* it - which was 0.2.
I think official got caught trying to let it go - but then couldn't once the YU player went OB.
And by doing this, clock ended up at 0.2 (game over) instead of 1.0 (catch and shoot).

Almost all of the issues you mention are on the schools...not FloSports.
Flo is just the streaming platform. The schools are responsible for the broadcast quality, the production, the broadcast start time, etc.

@BQuillmanQcast FloSports is terrible. Landmark Conference uses it and there are always technical difficulties that result in no stream available, game starting before stream, video but no audio, audio out of sync with game, no scoreboard on screen, no clock on screen, or wrong score or clock.

We had significant sound quality issues. There needs to be a way for the league to address the stream quality with FLO.

@d3bubble @idkilikewbb The Ivy League has great academic institutions with amazing student athletes too but its teams compete at D1. Stanford is D1 too. At the D3 level NYU has an unfair advantage with its student body size and location. Is it for purity or to be a big fish in smaller pond?

@idkilikewbb NYU has the resources to play D1, and every school in their conference is an academic powerhouse with a multi-billion dollar endowment. NYU intentionally chose D3, for the academic focus and the purity of sport at that level.

@ColbyGHoops It is about marketing, clicks. and money. Each one of those 60 kids families will post the post game individual photo, then the day list, then the tournament list, and so on and so on, all of which prominently display the tournament or scouting group logo promoting the kids.

Out of genuine curiosity, what worth does a “standouts” list have when people are throwing up 50-60 names in EACH class for a single event?
Like, what’s the criteria for guys who are 50-60? Make a couple layups & knock down an open jumper or 2?

Have talked to a few WIAC football coaches recently who are concerned about potential changes coming to the WIAC Network streaming. Currently, games are streamed free and provide opportunity for teams to promote themselves to recruits and fans around the country. The WIAC is moving towards a pay-per-view model next year, which the league hopes will increase revenue, but coaches are concerned will drastically reduce the promotional reach of the league and its teams, and the ability for recruits to watch games. We'll see how this ends up playing out.

@Jeff_Ermann NIL is just increasing the distance between the haves and the have nots. Md is a wonderful school but it was never going to be UNC or DUKE in ACC and it is never going to financially keep up with Michigan, OSU, and Penn State. Look at schools in Elite 8.

@D3Direct @ZayasRiley @d3hoopsville My guess is there are bigger financial problems than sports there. Many D3’s use sports rosters to boost their admissions. It is common to see 20+ kid basketball rosters, and pushing a 100 kids on football teams. Without athletic scholarships each kid is a tuition.
