This is absolutely one of the public education mandates that doesn’t get talked about enough. If we didn’t have to transport to 40 other buildings we would have $700k more in our budget.

By law @SalisburySchool is required to provide transportation within 10 miles from the district boundary. They operate THREE school buildings and transport to almost FORTY. #FundOurSchoolsPA

The total cost of transportation for non public and charter students within @SalisburySchool is $706,000! #FundOurSchoolsPA

That $706,000 that @SalisburySchool pays for non public and charter transportation could bring SEVEN teachers in for their students. #FundOurSchoolsPA

25% of @SalisburySchool population is special education. The state average is 18%. They are significantly over that % and are seeing students with more complex needs and are being required to open additional programs to support those students. #FundOurSchoolsPA
