@brodriguesco I routinely get this error, also with Matrix. Usually it's because renv (or the base installer) downloades a package by source, either from the wrong repository or the dev version

if you sign an attribute a dataframe, either with structure() or attr(), it goes away if you do a group_by() + summarize() function. Is there a way to make it stay no matter what action is performed?

@RandVegan If the dataframe is a lazy table, sometimes they work without issues. Such as {skimr}: tbl_mtcars <- dplyr::tbl(con, "mtcars") tbl_mtcars |> skimr::skim()

Besides {pointblank} do any of the other R EDA packages work with database objects to get a summary view of your dataset?

@RandVegan You shouldn't, most {tidyverse} args support empty arguments! Every time rlang::list2() is used behind the scenes (this also works if you want to create a list)

I feel attacked. I even do leading commas in dplyr::filter arguments 😶

@GenthianPrigas @kennedymwavu You don't have to manage anything: these compress and decompress automatically readr::write_csv(mtcars, "data.csv.gz") readr::read_csv("data.csv.gz") (in the past read_* could lock the file, now it doesn't by default)

@lgaborini @kennedymwavu Do you have to close connections with readr, in the past I didn’t and my code has been fine. I’m guessing I might have to revisit it

R connections are fascinating. wdym i can write & read directly from a gzipped file?! no tempfiles needed, and the connections auto-close when done.

@TylerJBurch {crosstalk} is so underrated and underdeveloped, it's the only 100% offline solution to create interactive tools without coding too much, or setting up a static server (Quarto + OJS, WebR, Quarto + shinylive)

Base R has so many cool functions. Just learned about normalizePath(), basename() and tools::file_ext(). Perfect solutions to the project I was working on
