Solar provided ~50% of Texas' power for ~8 hours today, and for that entire time, wholesale power was free. #txenergy

Prudence matters. So do facts.
In Texas, battery energy storage has:
• helped avoid blackouts
• lowered prices during winter storms
• strengthened grid reliability as demand grows

Mr. Wielicki just posted a graph showing CO2 was higher 500 million years ago and thought he ended the climate debate. Let's talk about what else was happening when CO2 was at 4,000+ ppm:
There were no humans. No mammals. No birds. The continents were in completely different positions. There were no polar ice caps. Sea levels were hundreds of feet higher. And the sun was actually dimmer, which means it took MORE CO2 to warm the planet back then, not less. You're literally showing us a graph of a planet that would be uninhabitable for human civilization and saying 'see? It was fine!'
Fine for who, Mattie? The trilobites?
And funny you highlighted the Permian period on your own graph, because that CO2 spike coincides with the Permian-Triassic extinction, aka THE GREAT DYING, when 96% of marine species were wiped out. You included the receipt for the worst mass extinction in Earth's history and thought it helped your argument.
'CO2 is not a pollutant!' Neither is water…until it's six feet deep in your living room. Context matters. Rate matters. The issue was never that CO2 exists - it's that we're pumping it out at a rate thousands of times faster than any natural geological process on your cute little graph.
Also - 'IrrationalFear.com'? A geologist running a climate denial blog like it's a side hustle. Somewhere a rock hammer is crying.

Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change — all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.

Congratulations to the Super Bowl champion @Seahawks! This defense was special. MVP Kenneth Walker was dominant. And Sam Darnold gave us one of the best comeback stories in a long time. Enjoy the celebration.
