@liam_fallen Google’s search volume is up over 500% since they introduced ai into the results. Maybe try using google before questioning why anyone would use it. It’s substantially more useful now than it was 5 years ago.

@liam_fallen same can be said about improving typing speed/efficiency? Just because you can't type faster than you speak, why not work on that?
I believe right tool for the right job and purpose and environment. Also humans are nuanced :)

@EliBenveniste Surprisingly I've actually found Grok to be better at searching through websites than Google, especially forums and niche sites plus big ones like Reddit.

I pretty much use Google’s AI mode for Google searches exclusively. They don’t have to browse every webpage to get the correct answer to your question. They are the absolute best at crawling and storing information about webpages and other sources. There’s a reason everyone builds their SEO around Google.

@Tapu_Pixels Yeah adding Reddit to the end of searches doesn't work like it used to... It seems like everytime I search now the AI answer is there and I keep finding myself slipping into an AI chat 😅

@liam_fallen I legitimately think that was Google's master plan. Nerf their own search engine to funnel people towards AI The majority of my searches include "Reddit" at the end so I have a fighting chance of a human perspective regarding my question.

@liam_fallen Showing me answers or pointers to them that actually work instead of telling me most assuredly the absolutely correct way to do it is to use the proper sequence in a finite way exponentially without fail. Do it now while the offer lasts.

@liam_fallen My trust in Google for info is much higher than most AIs. I find myself Googling to verify AI info anyways, might as well start at the source.

One pattern I find useful for working with LLMs is a nice long ramble session. Sometimes the LLM needs more bits to understand what you're trying to achieve, but you're too lazy to type them. In these cases I like to lean back, switch to /voice and just ramble for like 10 minutes, total mess, anything goes, full stream of consciousness. Sometimes I declare it up top, something like "switching to speech recognition sorry for any typos...". Sometimes I turn it into a small interview of a few turns. But I find that the LLMs are somehow very good at reconstructing long incoherent rambles and often their echo of your own tangle of thoughts comes out quite a bit cleaner than what you started with. The result is that you improve the mind meld and have to correct things less from that point on.

@liam_fallen No one knows because all the AI shite and ads push everything organic way below the fold now so it never gets seen, and instead people click AIO's or links in Gemini and get forced into the walled garden of Google.
