@MichaelMMG71 What do you attribute the rise in these throwers' finds to? Javeline gaining popularity and thus an increased awareness at the roots in South Asia?
Would this also not imply that South Asia has talent hidden in other track and field events too, just needs to be found.

Forget Methi, everything is damn expensive nowadays outside India. And the quality is third rate. Indians who say "in foreign countries they earn a lot more per capita" "all the good stuff is exported out of India" etc have no clue. By PPP, India will beat most countries out of the park in affordability thanks to abundant local production and excellent management of inflation. And the cherry on top is - the amount of variety and quality you can get in India for most things from food to medical to services is unmatched anywhere. The issue which is making Indians black pilled is poor quality of infra in towns and cities. And high education & real estate costs. It is only a matter of time these things will also become better, as I clearly see India is trying to solve these issues now.

@stopquixote Mini auctions and mega auctions, on top of that the fact that no franchise gets to retain its core beyond 3-4 players every 3-4 odd years means IPL auction mechanics are as random as they get.
Also why all the teams are more evenly contested across all szns w no real underdog

@lie_lowkey I do not think auctions are random at all. Information asymmetry is the obvious factor (in Iyer’s case it is the bidding war as well if I remember right). That said, I have reasonable suspicion that they influence things in the background to stick to a ‘script’

Are we officially into RCB era?
Consider this:
On April 25, 2024, RCB needed to win 6 out of 6 just to stay alive. Almost everyone had written them off.
What followed was one of the greatest turnarounds in IPL history.
Not only did they qualify that season - they carried the momentum into the next, and won the IPL.
And today, they opened IPL 2026 with a win.
So since April 25, 2024, no team has won more matches than RCB.
18 wins from 23 games. Only 5 losses.
A win/loss ratio of 3.6 - and the second-best team in this period doesn't even come close to half of that.
