In addition to learning, I want to share my code and a write up in case it helps others doing similar work. I have heard good things about Torchio and would like to make some contribution, if possible.

I just answered today's machine learning question on @0xbnomial and got it right! "The anatomy of ReLU" So far, people have answered with 73% accuracy. You can give it a try here: today.bnomial.com Shout out to @rasbt - his write up was a reference for the correct answer.

@rasbt I am glad it will be helpful. It is a game changer for me. I can see and move all the windows around as needed. Having the zoom participant screen on my MacBook is good b/c I use the built in webcam and I can 'look' at the students when talking (if not looking at keynote remote)

@liftingcovered Thanks! And wow, after all these years using Keynote, I never stumbled upon the in Window option. This will come in so handy in other contexts as well!

@rasbt I can share how w/in a tweet. 1) set Play to in Window 2) hit play on Keynote remote in iPad. 3) Set Zoom Share screen to the Keynote window. The external monitor will show the reduced keynote screen that students see. By default, my MacBook screen shows the Zoom participants.

@liftingcovered Sure please feel free to post if it’s not too complicated. Or maybe a blog post format would work better for it? It might be useful for others. Also happy to bookmark it and give it a try when I am back home. It might be useful for in seminar contexts in the future.

@rasbt Good idea on a blog post format. Maybe I can even do a short video clip tutorial. I know I wasn't able to exactly figure it out via google search so maybe helpful to a broader audience.

@rasbt I think I figured it out! If it helps your twitter audience, I can post how here, or I can delete my question and this post so it doesn't take up your newsfeed.

@liftingcovered Good question! We only had asynchronous online or in-person teaching formats so I never got to try this setup.

@rasbt @liftingcovered Are the diagrams and charts in colour? Packt books are usually greyscale making them hard to read

@rasbt Got it. In my current specific case, I would be either using my MacBook Pro, and/or basic iPad. I'll give the Packt one a try.

@liftingcovered That's a good question. I think the difference is that the Amazon Kindle version can be read in their cloud reader. Packt's e-book version can be send to a Kindle though (but not sure if it will be available in the cloud reader)

@liftingcovered Nice! Good luck and I hope you'll have fun! For the iPad approach, I used Keynote (running on my Mac) with the iPad as a remote device. I like that for the pen tablet, I can look directly into the camera and I also have more software-pen options, but hand-coordination is harder

After 3 years, my trusty iPad pen stopped working, which made for a good incentive to give pen tablets a try. So, far, I am really liking that setup (can look straight at my larger monitor when annotating slides). But the learning curve is steep, indeed 😅 youtube.com/watch?v=ycyCtx…

@banji_007 @ylecun Yes, you can start this course now. I fear I cannot offer any certification. For that we would need to evaluate you. Perhaps I could look into that, if it's something many of you would be interested in. 🤓🤓🤓

Fine, I'll take the bait. This is actually the best time to get into ML research. Everything is so messy right now, and in that mess lies opportunities. There is so much to understand that if you have a passion for research, there's really no need to listen to much else.
(((ل()(ل() 'yoav))))👾@yoavgo

i want to get into ML research, what topic would you recommend? nothing. now it is not time to get into ML research. now its time to either observe what others are doing, or to build innovative applications using established techniques, or both.
