Yes, it rained in Gokwe, Nembudziya on April 17 and 18, 2025 - SO WHAT? Our disciplined security forces performed their drills with precision. Soccer legends entertained the crowds. Citizens from all walks of life came together in celebration. The rain didn’t dampen the spirit of the day - but apparently, it soaked the judgment of a few loud critics. What followed was not critique, but a full-blown tantrum - an unhinged display of Zimbabwe’s growing sickness: the glorification of self-hate and the obsessive compulsion to nitpick anything associated with national progress. We now have self-proclaimed intellectuals who think a brief downpour invalidates an entire development-focused national policy. You see - the decentralisation of Independence Day celebrations was not a logistical accident. It was a strategic decision by President Mnangagwa - rooted in the belief that every province, including those long neglected, deserves a share in the national spotlight and the tangible development that comes with it. Gokwe was not chosen for its glamour. It was chosen because it has long been overlooked. And thanks to this single event, roads were tarred, schools refurbished, clinics built, and a community uplifted. That is the very point of decentralisation - to spread the national cake beyond Harare and Bulawayo. But for the shallow-minded critics, all of that vanished in the puddles of a single rainy afternoon. Suddenly, it’s fashionable to mock rural Zimbabwe and to sneer at anything outside urban comfort zones. We love to parade ourselves as intellectuals. Yet this episode lays bare an uncomfortable truth - that for all our posturing, we remain a nation quick to ridicule, slow to reason, and utterly incapable of seeing beyond our own urban bias. If a little rain is all it takes to trigger national amnesia, then maybe - just maybe - we aren’t as smart as we pretend to be.

My daughter tells me she went to her headmaster on behalf of the Grade 7s, With the following requests: 1. To leave school at 1 going forward to “refresh their minds”, 2. A 2 weeks break now that exams are over, 3. Permission to bring their phones to school,🚮😅 4. That they swim & play sports during school hours. That girl fears nobody!🤦🏿‍♀️ Feels like dejavu!😂 Reincarnation is a thing!!! 🙆🏿‍♀️

@Mamoxn This reminds me of one brother of mine MHDSRIP. He had nothing, yet he never forgot about his kids. He would visit them at their home 2 or three times a week. When he died the kids were devastated, yet he didn't give them anything material but love.

I think people don’t understand that deadbeat - ism isn’t just about money, There are many wonderful fathers facing hard times financially, Who still see their kids, Talk to them, And show them affection. Deadbeat dads don’t give a hoot about their children, At an emotional level not just financially, You can cover up for them but they will show their ass to the kids anyway, Through broken promises, By standing them up, And just never even picking up the phone to call. The money part mostly affects the mum who has to make sure child is fed, clothed, educated… The absenteeism however, Emotional and physical absenteeism, Kills the child’s spirit.

Themba Gorimbo is proof of why most celebrities actually need management, especially to handle their social media accounts Because let's be realistic a majority of them are plain idiots, they live in their own imaginary world, out of touch with reality For example Gorimbo is now so out of touch with reality ever since he was adopted by The Rock. The fame has gotten to his head, to a point he feels he can denegrade every other Zimbabwean celebrity, just for the sake of it At the same time insulting fans, the very people who cheered for him in his grass to grace story. At the click of a button he has lost all the respect the people had for him. Over what? Social media attention is indeed a drug Learn OR perish!!!

It would be a miscalculation on CCC’s part to ask me, Because the probability of losing would be high, Because social media “popularity”, Does not translate to popularity in the constituency. Only a handful of people that follow me here, Are from my constituency. #ZanuPfMustGo

There is nothing scared about shrines that hide evidence of rape. Nothing sacred about places where women and girls are abused in the name of religion. They call it marriage but we all know it's rape. #TimetoAct #ProjectSafeZw @VnetGb
