This #SharkAwarenessDay we wanted to share some good news from the UK #OverseasTerritories. The Pitcairn Islands are recognised by the IUCN as Important Shark and Ray Areas. Numerous underwater recordings of oceanic-white tip have been captured around the Cayman Islands.

@harryvx There must be something in the air (or rather, on the ground) in the OTs - I tripped and fractured my ankle a few days ago here in Pitcairn! Our Dr and nurse were brilliant too. Now sporting a boot that would v much suit Darth Vader… take care and heal well!

What a day! Slipped and fell and broke a bone in my arm. Fixed up by the brilliant Drs and nurses at Glendon Hospital, Brades. Back at home now and resting up. ❤️‍🩹

Today #Pitcairn 🇵🇳celebrates Bounty Day! It’s 235 years since the mutineers of HMAV Bounty ⛵️ arrived. Tonight the community will enjoy a dinner of locally caught fish 🎣, followed by setting fire to this model of the Bounty made today - a nod to the fate of the original ship.

…and after a feast (including obligatory Bounty Bars), the ship was lit🔥. I didn’t manage to capture it, but passion fruit and the odd firework stowed on board meant the ship went with a bang! 💥 🧨
