SPRING BALL RECAP - LONE PEAK
I first want to thank Lone Peak for trusting me to help their players get seen and allowing me to come by for practice. I have a ton of respect for the coaches in our communities that maximize opportunities for their student athletes.
HERE IS WHAT I SAW:
The first thing I noticed about the Lone Peak roster was the balance. It seems like they have a really good player (or multiple players) at every position. They have benefited from some transfers, particularly up front, which gives me confidence that they will be very good in 2026. The Knights will be tested early with their schedule as they play a national powerhouse out of the gate but I fully expect them to be one of the last teams playing come playoff time.
LP is a perennial local contender, and based on what I see at practice, it isn’t by chance. The coaching, culture, competition and structure is conducive for high level play. The community also plays a big role in providing a great atmosphere for the team. Lone Peak is a game most teams circle on their schedule, but you will want to buckle up if you play them.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to see the full roster as some of the top players were absent due to spring sports. Kingston Stroshine (2029 - LB) is a great example of a player that college coaches need to know about, but didn’t have a chance to evaluate that evening due to his baseball schedule. I look forward to coming back at a later date and getting an idea of the full potential this team has. I appreciate the time fellas!
WHO STOOD OUT?
Cruz Christensen, QB - 2027
@cruzchrist11
Cruz is a talented player, with a quick release and solid decision making. He demonstrated an ability to step in and win big games last season, but he will be the full time guy this year. Outside of being a high level passer, Cruz also runs an 11.2 verified 100 meter. His multifaceted skillset will be a challenge for defenses and I think he will be one of the best QB’s in the class.
Sean Tahi, RB - 2027
@seantah1
Sean is legitimate college prospect that will benefit from a big senior season. He flashed big potential his sophomore year, and dealt with some injuries between then and now. If can put everything together, he has the talent to be a game changer for that team. The size and skill he has will give Lone Peak the balance dynamic that I referenced. Big year loading for the RB1.
JB Sua, OL - 2029
@ioane_sua
JB is only a current freshman, but he can really play. He’s one of the few 2029 OL prospects that deserve college attention at this juncture. His size and physicality is impressive, moves very well and plays with an edge. He will be a guy that pulls P4 teams to our state for recruiting. I’m excited to see the development and work translate to the field that he’s put in this offseason.
