You have to admit, the marketing ploy for Grok Imagine was brilliant. 1. Offer it to EVERYONE for free, then take it away ⬇️ 2. Give Unlimited usage to any subscriber ⬇️ 3. Give higher usage limits to higher tier subscribers ⬇️ 4. Drastically reduce limits for all non top-tier subscribers, while pushing to upgrade to Heavy What's next? Limit it to only people willing to pay $300 a MONTH for it? I love Grok Imagine, I use it almost daily, but there's no way in hell I'll be paying for Grok Heavy. I'll find other options, or just go back to my private server. P.S. yes, I used my precious credits to make the attached image😄

@renatolaurino I disagree. Even with it's first iterations, I found Grok Imagine extremely useful and convenient as compared to my local AI hosted servers. I don't mind paying for the service at all as long as what I'm getting isn't constantly being taken away or limited.

@WC_Alice_VT I've been into genAI for many years. I've got several local AI servers running InvokeAI. Yes, there's plenty of free options out there, but it's not just about the price. It's about the speed and convenience. I don't mind paying for a good service. I do mind being swindled.

@OrahOnX I've got a nice little InvokeAI server myself. Not to hard to setup and pretty fast with a 5090, and while it's obviously unlimited and uncensored, I think most people like Grok Imagine for the speed and convenience of it on top of it making (mostly) quality outputs.

@linkzvr yep. get us hooked and then send the bill. I've been seeing other AI. There are a ton of pretty awesome alternatives out there. I can't wait to have enough money and know how to build my own local AI

@linkzvr Even the heavy tiers are being extremely rate limited! Not only that, retroactive usage prior to the weekly limit was done, so as soon as the weekly limits dropped I was hit with 100% utilization as a heavy user immediately.
