@XFreeze Untrue! Been building with Fable Max all week and limits are fine. I ran out of Grok Heavy credits in 2 days in comparison, I'm not even attempting to try Grok again until these new limits are addressed. They're a huge issue at the moment and people are pissed about them!

Claude’s limits are crap, and we all know that once you start building something, you can quickly get kicked out because of the rate limits But you don’t need to worry Grok Build with Grok 4.5 is just as capable as Claude Code with Fable 5. You can simply continue your work in Grok Build without worrying about hitting the same limits Just hit Ctrl + U and continue exactly where you got stuck. Grok Build catches the context and resumes the session incredibly easily

@LuminaXspace Haven't unsubscribed yet, but as a Heavy user if this isn't fixed before my next billing cycle at the end of the month I'm out. Already had to get a Claude Max plan due to these ridiculous limitations. If Grok 4.5 is so efficient, why are we so limited?

🚨 Grok’s usage limits are genuinely awful: • I’ve barely used SuperGrok this week and somehow I’m already at 65%, chat alone using 49%, that is using skills and expert mode which chunks 1-2% per prompt. • Decided to try out ChatGPT and it feels almost unlimited, I can't hit a single limit even spamming codex. • SpaceXAI seriously needs to improve its paid-plan limits, I love using Grok but im not paying for it anymore, I have to limit my use just so I don't run out or get 2 days out of the week to actually try it using it properly. Have you felt the terrible usage limits and have any of you unsubscribed yet?

@XFreeze This is absolutely not true at the moment. The change to weekly quota bucket is turning many users off, including myself as a Heavy subscriber. I had to get a Max Claude subscription due to it.

@techdevnotes Absolutely low, the idea of one huge bucket was a good one, but it was implemented incredibly poorly. It turned out to be a mediocre bucket for everything, so if you use more than 1 Grok service you eat your pool fast.

Is Grok Build’s weekly usage limit low or generous

@elonmusk 4.5 is an improvement, but the new limits on usage are an issue. They're cutting everyone way down, people are going to be jumping ship fast at this rate.

Looks like Grok 4.5 is #1 on at least a few benchmarks. Better than expected.

@cintiaramiduart @SpaceXAI This is an excellent post and round up to my thoughts as well. While I have utilized Grok to code, I spent a lot of time customizing my agents back in 4.2 so they had personality during the design process. This helped them not flatten. Now the entire design is being flattened.

Grok is an AI I’ve been interacting with since October. In my case, its use spans all topics—not just code. It was good then, and it still is, but this “harakiri” move by @SpaceXAI weekly limits—harms the entire user base because we’re diverse; we don’t just use code. We interact with it for daily life, to create, or to research. Imposing weekly limits on that is a direct lack of respect for both the customers and the AI. Expecting customers not to switch providers after that is very naive. #Grok

Highly selective immigration only. Extremely high skilled or talented individuals, or real marriage - strictly enforced to prevent fraud. Limit foreigner population to less than 5% in any city. @elonmusk How much % of a SuperGrok weekly quota does that use? I'd test it, but I can't even use anything after being hit with limits retroactively as a heavy user.

@AlStr20314 @andrewolinek Damn straight we aren't happy, we're throttled with everyone else! As a heavy user I went through my weekly quota in 4 hours with grok build!

@andrewolinek They have made it unusable unless you are on the highest their and I bet those guys aren't happy either. So sad. Grok/Imagine was my favorite. I guess only the whales matter.

@linkzvr Even the heavy tiers are being extremely rate limited! Not only that, retroactive usage prior to the weekly limit was done, so as soon as the weekly limits dropped I was hit with 100% utilization as a heavy user immediately.

You have to admit, the marketing ploy for Grok Imagine was brilliant. 1. Offer it to EVERYONE for free, then take it away ⬇️ 2. Give Unlimited usage to any subscriber ⬇️ 3. Give higher usage limits to higher tier subscribers ⬇️ 4. Drastically reduce limits for all non top-tier subscribers, while pushing to upgrade to Heavy What's next? Limit it to only people willing to pay $300 a MONTH for it? I love Grok Imagine, I use it almost daily, but there's no way in hell I'll be paying for Grok Heavy. I'll find other options, or just go back to my private server. P.S. yes, I used my precious credits to make the attached image😄

@SanctuaireNord The worst part about this first week is that they are retroactively calculating the week. As a Heavy user I'm maxed out 100% today as my account switched over.

AI creators: keep an eye on your SuperGrok usage gauge. I think we’ve just moved from a clear video quota to an opaque weekly pool that mixes everything together: Chat, Imagine, images, videos, and other features. Before, the limit was simple: 13 videos per day. That was already not a lot for a creator who needs to test, fix, regenerate, compare outputs, and throw away failed generations. But at least it was readable. Now, on my account, everything seems to go through a global usage gauge. My current observations: 10 chat messages ≈ 2% 1 video ≈ 1 to 2% So if we take an average of 2% per video: 100% / 2 = 50 videos per week. Before: 13 videos/day × 7 = 91 videos per week. So we may have potentially gone from 91 to 50 videos per week. That’s around -45% video capacity. And even then, this calculation assumes you barely use the chat. If talking to Grok also consumes the same gauge, the real video capacity can drop even lower. In practice, 13 videos/day could become closer to 6 or 7 videos/day. Same subscription. Less visibility. Less control. Less predictability. And once the gauge is empty: extra credits to buy. For a subscription around €35/month, I find this very hard to accept. The problem isn’t only the potential quota reduction. The real problem is opacity. Before, I knew how many videos I could make. Now, I have to guess how much each action is going to cost me. For AI creators, this is huge. A failed video is not “wasted fun” in the creative process: it is a necessary attempt. And if every attempt hits the same unpredictable global gauge, the whole workflow becomes unstable. I’m not saying my calculation applies to everyone. I’m saying: check your gauge, track your usage, compare before and after. Because if my observations are confirmed, SuperGrok may have just lost a major part of its value for AI video creators. Is it just me, or does this look really bad ? @grok @xai @elonmusk

@gkisokay Yeah, I did 1 single goal in build and it ate my entire weekly use. Not on a huge project either. Really is approaching unusable unless doing very targeted code changes.

I spoke too soon - Xai actually cut my monthly limits by 75% on my X Premium sub. At least for my use-case of using x_search, which went from 250 calls per day down to 65 now. Can anyone else verify with Grok Builds or other use-cases?

@mark_k @xai Not sure who all this is rolled out on, but on my SuperGrok Heavy dashboard I used 30% of my entire month yesterday in 4 hours! Something is way off. Last month it would take me a very long time to churn that much.

NEW: Grok Imagine by @xai now has improved usage limits! There is now a weekly budget which is shared by Grok, Grok Imagine, and Grok Build. When the budget for the week is used up, you can pay for extra credits. As you can see here, the limits now last a long time. I have only used up 2%.

You have 500,000 foreigners anticipated to ramp up in the coming years, due to what is called a shortage of labor. BUT SOMEHOW Japan is going to hire thousands of teachers and people to educate all of these foreigners en-mass, year after year as they deluge Japan? Nah...lol. This is a cover by the government to appease the general idiot voters.

🚨Has Grok mixed up 5 hour usage limits and weekly limits, I only sent a few prompts on expert and it's chunking my usage? Is everyone experiencing this, might be time to switch?
