While on a rural engagement today, I ran into this Nduochigbo Nkaleke Nursery and Primary. Upon entry into the school, I met with the community teachers teaching the pupils and inquired about the state of things in the school. They told me how bad and difficult things have been especially in areas of infrastructure and man power(teachers). The school which was established in 2007 cannot boast of a walled structure or building since after the village tasked themselves to erect the subsisting one over two decades now. The said school is located very close to the Ozibo DC and Ebonyi LGA headquarters Ugbodo but it's so sad to note that they can't proudly say to have a school building not to talk of teaching aids. It pains indeed that most of the villagers are now left with no option than to send their kits and kins to a private school within the village despite the hardships facing them, they had to face the high rate of fees paid in the private school just because they wanted to train their children in school. I wish to use this medium to call on the Development Centre Coordinator to take up this responsibility as such a school cannot be said to exist within the centre as it is not only an eyesow but a big affront to our rationality as a people.
