Broooo, for real!!! As a kid, I used to see him as that cheap, overbearing dad. Always counting coins, clipping coupons, stressing over every little thing. Funny how he was so annoying to me back then. But Now? Damn... It’s a whole different story. I now realize he was just teaching us money discipline, showing us that every small saving you make could help you survive. That man was a hero. Worked multiple jobs, fixed cars, kept the household running, and even sacrificed his own comfort so that his kids could have the opportunities he never had. Every rule he enforced, every blunt warning, wasn’t him being cruel. It was basically him preparing his kids for how real life worked. Julius is the kind of dad you roll your eyes at as a kid but then grow up to realize he is a masterclass in responsibility as an adult.

Good time to bring this back, because I honestly will NEVER understand it. What about me as a human being makes me not deserve streets where we can all ride bicycles and enjoy the security and good weather?

This tweet was made in 2023. Valid in 2024 Valid in 2025 Valid in 2026 Will be valid in 2027 4 years, just like that. If Nigerian youths were to cognize the cost of bad governance in units of time, there’d be an instant revolution. Your leaders are wasting your best years💔

" APC came to K!ll, stèal and destr0y Nigerians. APC started the end of an era called Nigeria. APC as a party is anti-human. They are irony of the progressive they call themselves. Buhari was failure, Tinubu is Buhari-Promax"

I was in Alaba Int’l Mkt today, people are seriously switching to solar panels 90% of the “aboki” trucks I saw were conveying solar panels from one location to another The same way our parents were beaten into using generators is how we have been beaten into using solar panels

Let me use my mum as a real example. She started a turkey and frozen chicken business in our area, the first of its kind at the time. People used to come from different states to buy from her. Business was good. Steady sales, loyal customers… it was working. Then, small small… others started copying. Before we knew it, almost every street had one freezer shop. Same turkey, same chicken. Competition entered fully. As if that wasn’t enough, light became a bigger problem. NEPA would take light for days. The generator had to run almost non-stop. Fuel price? You already know. At some point, it felt like we were working just to buy fuel. The losses?? Was on another level. One bad outage… and stock starts to spoil. Another day, generator issues. Maintenance, fuel, restocking, everything was just draining money. Meanwhile, customers now had options everywhere, so sales dropped. I remember one day she said: “This business is no longer feeding itself.” Not that it wasn’t a good idea… not that she didn’t work hard… But between competition, poor electricity, and rising costs, the business couldn’t survive. She eventually shut it down. The lesson there is: In Nigeria, sometimes your biggest problem is not your business… It’s the environment around it.

Why did you shut down your business?

When I first moved to the UK, I was squatting with my mom’s younger brother, who by the way is freaking rich!!!! He’s lived here for most of his life and would visit Nigeria only during Christmas. Married a white woman and has kids. I looked up to him, admired him and he was one of my favorite uncles. We had a good relationship for the longest of time before I left Nigeria. However, after moving into his house I realized he is deputy Satan. He treated me like shit. Talked down on me like I was beneath him. Would mock my “Nigerian accent”. One day he saw me using the microwave and asked if I have ever used one in my life or if we had one in Nigeria. Asked if I knew what a washing machine is. Me? First class graduate from FUTO with my IELTS band 8.0. Many things I can’t remember now but one thing I can’t forget was one time his wife and son travelled in the summer. It was on a Sunday and we’d just got back from church. I decided to make us lunch and so with my money I got stuffs from the shops. I made him barbecue fish with plantain. Specially. I was happy doing something nice for this man. He accepted it after I served, or so I thought. I went into my room until the next day when I was leaving early for work. Just as I was about leaving the door, he called me back in. Asked why I decided to make him food yesterday. I responded that I just wanted to do something nice for him and since his wife wasn’t at home to cook for him, I decided to. He looked me dead in the eye, said I should never offer anything again to him, told me he left “my fish” in the kitchen and I should take it back. lol I grew up in so much comfort that I’d never experienced “maltreatment” and anyone being condescending to me until my adult life. Till today, I still ask God to help me forgive him because I’ve never hated someone in my entire life this much. It was so bad that at a point I also resented my mom for being his sister. I resented their entire family. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

“Many of you are saying our fuel price is increasing because of the cønfl!ct in Iran. You’re missing the point. We are an oil-producing country, with crude oil right under our feet. We are not supposed to be going through this if we have good leadership in Nigeria.” — Isaac Fayose
