Our population has grown faster than our healthcare system can handle. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and long wait times aren’t the fault of healthcare workers—they need more staff and support. Until the system can keep up, we need to reassess population growth.

A 44-year-old Edmonton man has died, leaving behind his wife and three children, after reportedly waiting more than eight hours at the Grey Nuns Hospital while experiencing persistent chest pain. While waiting, he allegedly reported blurred vision and had a blood pressure reading of 210, and was reportedly given only Tylenol.
