A lot of people were accusing the White House of disrespecting the American flag and "breaching the US flag code" yesterday, but in reality they were not. This is why I believe Community Notes have huge potential here on Twitter. This user posted a photo that chopped off the top of the building which would have shown that the US flag was on top. Instead they only showed the below photo which would appear to depict a violation of US Flag code. Community notes allowed people to notate this person's tweet to correct the misinformation. Community notes are far form perfect, but I believe they will eventually get there.
